Fresh efforts made to combat homelessness in Ireland
Dublin- Fresh efforts are being made to combat homelessness.
The Government hopes to stamp out the problem with a new 5-year strategy.
It aims to ensure homeless people are not housed in emergency accomodation like shelters and B&B's for more than six months.
The draft document seen by the Irish Times advises a major shift towards the use of private-rented accomodation. But it doesn't outline how much funding will be needed, or whether money will be ring-fenced to sure the plan is implemented.
