Ireland - Second highest rate of self harming among teens
Dublin- One in ten Irish teens has 'self-harmed'. A European study reveals 9.1 per cent of youths here have deliberately cut themselves or overdosed.
That's the second highest rate in a list of European countries - with only the UK faring worse at 13.2 per cent. Irish girls are more likely to self-harm than boys, citing 'wanting to die' and 'wanting relief from a terrible situation' as reasons.
