Irish Cancer Society set to launch Daffodil Day
Dublin- 20 thousand people will be diagnosed with cancer in Ireland this year. According to the Irish Cancer Society there will be a 62 per cent rise in the number of cancer sufferers by the year 2020.
However, they maintain that the chance of surviving cancer is greater now than ever before due to advances in treatment. Ahead of todays launch of the Societys Daffodil Day fundraising campaign, CEO John Mc Cormac said that the governments new cancer strategy will give patients a better chance of survival.
