Irish Governments lack of spending on private speed cameras
Dublin- Road Safety Boss Gay Byrne has hit out at the Government saying they are not providing enough money on private speed cameras. He claims the Department of Justice is holding up the provision of over 600 cameras.
Gay Byrne was speaking after a weekend of carnage on the roads that saw 7 people killed in seperate accidents. In a report in this mornings Irish Independent, he says in letters to the Minister for Transport that this is the third year in a row that the cameras were promised - but still haven't arrived.
