Currency fluctuations could impact Irish Tourism
Dublin- Currency fluctuations and the stock market roller-coaster could yet have a negative impact on the numbers holidaying in Ireland this year. 2007 was the best year on record for tourism - and a conference in Cork is being told that they can be cautiously optimistic about 2008. More money's being spent on overseas marketing campaigns, as well as on campaigns to encourage Irish people to holiday at home. Shaun Quinn, chief executive of Failte Ireland says international financial pressures could affect how much people spend when they're here.
