PM Koirala appears at public function
KATHMANDU - Attending a public function after nearly three weeks of complete bed rest, Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala Tuesday called on all agitating groups to participate in the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections as he reiterated his commitment to hold polls on April 10.
“I appeal to my friends in Madhes and others to take part in the elections,” he said. “The onus lies on me to fulfill all your demands and I’ll fulfill them if they only say that they will take part in the elections. This is the message I want to send to all the Nepalis.”
The octogenarian leader attended a formal program at the Shaheed Gangalal National Heart Center only after taking permission from the Election Commission, considering the CA polls code of conductSmilingly, Prime Minister said he was present in a public event despite doctors’ advice since some politicians were trying to exploit the situation in the Terai in their interest.
During his 12-minute long statement, Prime Minister Koirala informed that he was fit and fine.
He complained that the press had exaggerated about his health condition.
