Security situation has improved in Terai’
BIRATNAGAR - Minister for General Administration Ram Chandra Yadav Thursday claimed that the violent incidents in the Terai has substantially subsided after the enforcement of special security plan in eight most troubled districts.
Talking in a programme organised by the Press Chautari here in Biratnagar, the minister, who hails from the restive Terai, also informed that the government is planning to introduce similar security campaign in other districts in the region. Minister Yadav added that the government could not hold talks with the armed agitating groups in the Terai—Goit and Jawala Singh factions of the Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (JTMM)—due to their criminal tendencies.
Minister Yadav added that the activities like asking for ransom, killing of civil servants and abduction of businessmen are not political activities
