Sligo is dirtiest town in Ireland in survey

Dublin- Sligo has been identified as the dirtiest town in Ireland in the latest Irish Business Against Litter survey. Mallow in Cork, Tallaght in Dublin and Nenagh in Tipperary have also been deemed "litter black-spots" in the annual study of 50 locations around the country. Overall, however, the survey indicates that Ireland's litter problem is improving, with 22 towns deemed litter-free.This compares to just two towns when the survey began in 2002. The proportion of areas ranked as litter black-spots has also fallen from 62% in 2002 to just 8% in 2007.The tidiest town in the latest IBAL survey will be revealed at a ceremony in Dublin later today.
