काठमांडू- ट्रेनिङ भिसामा नेपाली कामदारहरु जापान जान पाउने भएका छन् ।
निकै लामो समयदेखि प्रशिक्षार्थी कामदारकोरुपमा नेपालीहरु जापान जान पाउने हल्लाले बजार तातेको पनि बर्षौ भईसकेको छ । तर नेपाल सरकारको आन्तरिक कमजोरी र उपयुक्त वातावरणको अभावमा यो अवसर अझै नेपालहरुले उपयोग गर्न पाएका थिएनन् । यस सम्बन्धमा नेपाल र जापान सरकारका उच्च अधिकारीबिच गत साता सहमति पत्रमा हस्ताक्षर भईसकेकोले अब भने बिस्तारै बातावरण बन्न लागेको छ । सो सम्झौताका लागि गत सातामात्रै जापान गएका श्रम सचिव श्यामप्रसाद मैनालीले नेपाली कामदारलाई जापानमा रोजगारी दिने सहमति भएको जानकारी दिएका छन् ।
उनकाअनुसार कामदार पठाउन सक्ने संस्था छनौटका लागि नेपाल सरकारले छिटै मापदण्ड निर्धारण गर्ने भएको छ । दुइ देशबिच भएको सहमतिअनुसार जापान जाने प्रशिक्षार्थी कामदारले एक बर्षपरिक्षणकोरुपमा र दुइ बर्षकामदारकारुपमा काम गर्न पाउने छन् । उनीहरुले मासिक ८० हजार देखि १ लाख सम्म कमाउन सक्नेछन । साथै कम्पनीको नियमअनुसार बिभिन्न भत्ता पनि पाउने छन् । तर उनीहरुले अनिबार्यरुपमा जापानी भाषा, संस्कृति र सम्बन्धित काममा दखल हुनुपर्ने बताईएको छ ।

Govt sends letter to ex-king to evacuate Narayanhiti

KATHMANDU - The government Friday issued a formal letter to then king Gyanendra Shah and palace secretariat to evacuate the Narayanhiti palace within fifteen days as per the direction of the first Constituent Assembly (CA) meeting.
Despite the public holiday today, the Prime Minister’s office forwarded the letter in the name of palace secretariat this morning, Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula informed.
The first CA meeting at late night on Wednesday had directed the government to evict then king Gyanendra Shah from the Narayanhiti palace within fifteen days.
The letter sent in the name of the palace secretariat mentioned to vacate the place within fifteen days after the first CA meeting.
Along with the letter, a photocopy each of the direction and proposal passed by the CA meeting to implement republic, and amendment made to the interim constitution with the provision of a president have also been dispatched.
Meanwhile, a high-level government sources have denied the rumors that the then king Gyanendra and his family left the palace last midnight, though some media had published and broadcasted such news.
Former princess Himani had gone to Narayanhiti palace for dinner and returned back to Nirmal Niwas in Maharajgunj with her relatives at around mid-night, the sources claimed.
However, the sources added that a few green trucks and vans of the Nepal Army were seen carrying the belongings of the ex-royals to the Nirmal niwas.
Meanwhile, refuting the claims that the then king left the palace yesterday, Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula confirmed that Gyanendra Shah will evacuate the palace only after necessary consultations with the government.
Home minister Sitaula said that the government is ready to make necessary security arrangements to the former king though he stays in Nirmal Niwas.
The Minister, however, clarified that the number of security personnel will be slashed.

जेठ १५ गते नेपालमा गणतन्त्र घोषणा गरिएको खुशियालीमा आयरल्याण्डको राजधानी डब्लिनमा एउटा स्वागत कार्यक्रमको आयोजना गरिएको छ । बुधवार राती वीरेन्द्र अन्तर्राष्टिय सम्मेलन केन्द्रमा नेपाल संघीय गणतन्त्रमा प्रवेश गरेको घोषणा गरेपछि डब्लिनको व्यस्त सिटी सेन्टरस्थित कार्मेलाइट सेन्टरमा स्वागत कार्यक्रम आयोजना गरिएको थियो । कार्यक्रममा समाजका सभापति जीवन तिमिल्सिना, कार्यक्रममा संयोजक तथा समाजका कोषाध्यक्ष राजन काफ्ले लगायतका एक दर्जन भन्दा बढि वक्ताहरुले नेपालमा आएको राजनैतिक परिवर्तनको मुक्तकण्ठले प्रसंसा गरेका थिए । यसैबीच नेपालमा आएको राजनैतिक परिवर्तन संगै नेपाल आयरल्याण्ड समाजले नयां नेपालको निर्माणका लागि आवश्यक सहयोग गर्ने निर्णय गरेका छ । गणतन्त्र घोषणा भएकै दिन नेपाल आयरल्याण्ड समाजले आफ्ना पांच जना पदाधिकारी सम्मिलीत एउटा सहयोग समिति गठन गरेको छ । गंगाराम कंडेल, डा.केशव भट्टर्राईर्,र् इ.अशोक श्रेष्ठ, दिपेशमान शाक्य तथा राजन काफ्ले सम्मितिल उक्त समुहले आयरल्याण्डमा विभिन्न कार्यक्रम आयोजना गरेर नेपालका विभिन्न क्ष्ँेत्रमा भौतिक पूर्वाधारहरु तयार पार्न सहयोग जुटाउने छ । समाजका महासचिव दिपेशमान शँक्यका अनुसार विदेशमा बस्ने नेपालीहरुको सानो सहयोगबाट नेपालका ग्रामिण भेगमा विद्यालय, स्वास्थ्य केन्द्र लगायतका आवश्यक भौतिक पूर्वाधार निर्माणमा सहयोग पुर्याउन सकिने भएकाले समाजले आजैका दिन देखि च्यारिटी मार्फत त्यस्तो सहयोग नेपाल सम्म पुर्याउने बताउनु भयो ।

Rail services returning to normal after eight-day strike

Dublin- Rail services in Cork and Kerry are returning to normal this morning following eight days of unofficial strike action by train drivers.

The standoff erupted last week as part of a row over the flexibility of drivers' work practices. However, the Cork-based employees at the centre of the action agreed to return to work yesterday under a deal brokered by the Labour Relations Commission. Iarnród Éireann says there will still be some disruption to services today, but the network will be fully operational for the bank holiday weekend.

Phoenix Park in full bloom for garden show

Dublin- Dublin’s Phoenix Park will be in full bloom today with a stunning garden show open to the public. Bloom 2008 boasts a colourful garden and floral displays, interactive gardens installations and farmer’s markets. Designers and gardeners will also be on hand to give tips to budding green fingers. Last year more than 50,000 people attended the event. Organisers said the event, which runs until Monday, features a range of activities for everyone from seasoned horticulturist to young families.

Two critically injured in five-car pile-up in Dublin

Dublin- Two people are in a critical condition following a multi-vehicle road accident near Dublin Airport this morning.

Five cars were involved in the crash, which happened on the M1 between the Donabate and Swords exits at around 2.30am. The M1 southbound is closed between Walshestown and Donabate and will remain closed until 10am for technical examination. Motorists are being warned to expect serious delays and to avoid the area if possible.

राजतन्त्र बिदा, मुलुक अब संघीय गणतान्त्रिक

काठमांडू- संविधानसभा पहिलो बैठकले गणतन्त्र कार्यन्वयनको प्रस्ताव पारित गरेर मुलुकबाट राजतन्त्रलाई बिदा दिएको छ ।
नेपाल अब संघीय गणतान्त्रिक मुलुक भएको छ । संविधानसभाको जेठ १५ गते भएको पहिलो बैठकले 'गणतन्त्र कार्यन्वयनको प्रस्ताव पारित गरियोस्' भन्ने मन्त्री परिषदको प्रस्ताव जेठ १५ गते राती ११ बजेर २५ मिनेट जाँदा बहुमतले पारित गरेपछि नेपाल गणतन्त्रको युगमा प्रवेश गरेको हो । संविधानसभा बैठकमा उपस्थित ५६४ सदस्यमा प्रस्तावको पक्षमा ५६० र बिपक्षमा ४ जना सभासदले मतदान गरेका थिए । सरकारको प्रस्तावको पक्षमा राप्रपा नेपालका सभासदबाहेक सबै सभासदले मतदान गरेको थिए । संविधानसभा बैठकले नेपाल संघीय लोकतान्त्रिक गणतन्त्र भएको प्रस्ताव पारित गरेपछि बैठकको अध्यक्षता गरिरहेका जेष्ठ सभासद केबी गुरुङले पूर्व राजा ज्ञानेन्द्र शाहलाई १५ दिनभित्र नारायणहिटी दरबार छोडाउन सभाको तर्फबाट सरकारलाई आदेश दिएका छन् ।
यसैगरी, गणतन्त्र कार्यन्वयन भएको खुसियालीमा सरकारले १६ र १७ गते राष्ट्रिय पर्वका रुपमा दुई दिने राष्ट्रिय बिदा दिने घोषणा गरेको छ । संविधानसभा बैठकमा सरकारका तर्फबाट गृहमन्त्री कृष्णप्रसाद सिटौलाले लोकतान्त्रिक गणतन्त्र कार्यन्वयनको प्रस्ताव पारित गरियोस् भन्ने प्रस्ताव प्रस्तुत गरेका थिए । यसैगरी बैठकमा मन्त्री परिषद बैठकको गणतन्त्र कार्यन्वयन तथा त्यस सम्बन्धि ५ निर्णय प्रधानमन्त्री गिरिजाप्रसाद कोइरालाकोतर्फबाट गृहमन्त्री सिटौलाले पेस गरेका थिए ।

नेपाली सिनेमा उद्योगमा कुशल अभिनय र नृत्यका लागि प्रशंसित नायक । पहिलो चलचित्र भानुभक्त र हाल एकसाथ विवश र पलपल चलचित्रको काममा व्यस्त । विशेष गरेर महिला मित्रहरूसँगको आत्मीयताका कराण विवादमा पनि पर्ने गर्छन् उनी । करिब तीन महिना लन्डन बसाइपछि उनी नेपाल फर्किएका छन्।
कहिले फर्कनुभयो?
– त्यस्तै दुई–तीन साता भयो।
तर, तपाईं त उतै बस्दै हुनुहुन्छ भन्ने हल्ला चल्यो नि यता त?
– यहाँ हल्ला चल्न कुन आइतबार कुर्नुपर्छ र! म आफ्नै श्रीमती लिएर लन्डन गएको थिएँ तर यहाँ त अर्कै केटी लिएर गयो भन्ने हल्ला चलाइएछ। यो खबर सुनेर म र मेरी श्रीमती दुवै हाँस्यौं।
श्रीमती लिएर जानुको कुनै कारण थियो कि?
– घुमाउन लैजानु भनेर निकै घुर्की देखाएर रिसाएझैं गर्न थालिन्, अनि यसो डुलाउन लगेको नि!

श्रीमतीको ठाउँमा अर्कै केटी लिएर जान पाएको भए अर्कै आनन्द आउँथ्यो होला नि होइन र? – घर भाँड्ने प्रश्न नगर्नुस् न यार !
दिलीपले लन्डनमै काम मिलाएकोले अब सपरिवार उतै बस्ने भए भन्ने चर्चा त्यसो भए निराधार नै ठहरियो होइन त?
– अवश्य ! एक त यहाँ थुपै सिनेमाको काम अड्किएको छ, निर्माताहरूलाई धोका दिनै सकिँदैन । र, अर्को कुरा काम गर्ने हो भने लन्डनभन्दा पनि राम्रो ठाउँमा गएर गर्न सकिन्छ । विदेश गएर काम गर्ने अवस्था आएको छैन ।

बैठक साढे तीन बजे

काठमांडू - सहमतिका लागि प्रधानमन्त्री निवास बालुवाटारमा सात दलको बैठक नसकिएपछि ११ बजे सुरु हुने भनिएको संविधानसभा बैठक साढे तीन बजे सरेको छ ।
संविधानसभाको पहिलो बैठक दिउँसो साढे तीन बजे हुने भएको छ । ११ बजे सुरु हुने बैठक साढे तीन बजे हुने भएपछि अन्तराष्ट्रिय सम्मेलन केन्द्र हलमा जम्मा भएका संविधानसभासद, कुटनीतिज्ञ र संचारकर्मी हल बाहिर निस्किएका छन् । राष्ट्रपतिको काम, कर्तब्य र अधिकारबारे प्रधानमन्त्री निवास बालुवाटारमा सात दलको बैठक जारी रहेकाले संविधानसभा बैठक सारिएको माओवादी संविधानसभासद रामबहादुर थापा मगरले बताए ।

आजबाट नेपाल गणतन्त्र

काठमाडौं - आज २०६५ साल जेठ १५ गते बुधबार । यो दिन नेपालीका लागि ऐतिहासिक बन्दै छ । बुधबार सुरु हुने संविधानसभाको बैठकमार्फत् नेपाल गणतन्त्र बन्दै छ । गणतन्त्र स्थापनासँगै दुई सय ४० वर्ष पुरानो राजतन्त्र औपचारिक रूपमा विघटन हुँदै छ ।

संविधानसभामा चुनिएर आएका २५ दलले बुधबार बस्ने पहिलो बैठकबाटै देशलाई 'संघीय लोकतान्त्रिक गणतन्त्रात्मक राज्य' बनाउने सहमति गरेका छन् । राजा र उनको परिवार बस्दै आएको नारायणहिटी दरबारलाई संग्रहालय बनाउने घोषणा पनि पहिलो बैठकबाटै हुने भएको छ । बैठकमा पेस गरिने प्रस्तावको पहिलो बुँदामा लेखिएको छ, 'सार्वभौमसत्ता र राजकीय सत्ता जनतामा निहित रही नेपाल सार्वभौमसत्ता सम्पन्न धर्म-निरपेक्ष, समावेशी, संघीय गणतन्त्रमा आजैका मितिदेखि विधिवत् परिणत भएको संविधानसभाको यो पहिलो बैठक घोषणा गर्दछ ।'
२५ दलको सहमति
नेपाल संघीय लोकतान्त्रिक गणतन्त्र राष्ट्राध्यक्षमा सेरेमोनियल राष्ट्रपति राजालाई दरबार छाड्न १५ दिने म्यादनारायणहिटी अब राष्ट्रिय संग्रहालयप्रस्तावको पाँचौं बुँदामा 'नेपालमा लोकतान्त्रिक गणतन्त्र कार्यान्वयन भइसकेको सन्दर्भमा नारायणहिटी दरबारलाई ऐतिहासिक संग्राहलयमा परिणत गर्न नेपाल सरकारले आवश्यक व्यवस्था मिलाउने' उल्लेख छ । संविधानसभा बैठकको पूर्वसन्ध्यामा मंगलबार साँझ बसेको २५ दलको भेलाले गणतन्त्र प्रस्तावलाई अन्तिम रूप दिएको हो । गणतन्त्र कार्यान्वयनका क्रममा यससित बाझिने सम्पूर्ण संवैधानिक प्रावधान, कानुन र प्रशासनिक व्यवस्था खारेज गरिने प्रस्तावमा उल्लेख छ । नयाँ सन्दर्भमा राष्ट्रपतीय व्यवस्थाका लागि अन्तरिम संविधान- २०६३ मा संशोधन गर्ने सहमति दलहरूबीच भएको छ । कार्यसूचीअनुसार संविधानसभाका जेष्ठ सदस्यले बैठकको अध्यक्षता गरी बैठक प्रारम्भ भएको घोषणा गर्नेछन् । मनोनीत हुन बाँकी २६ सभासद्मध्येबाट ज्येष्ठ सदस्य नपरेमा पहिलो बैठकको अध्यक्षता इलाम- ३ बाट चुनाव जितेका ७३ वर्षीय कुलबहादुर गुरुङले गर्नेछन् । बुधबार बिहान बस्ने मन्त्रिपरिषद् बैठकले २६ मनोनीतबारे निर्णय गर्दै छ ।

गणतन्त्र कार्यान्वयनका अतिरिक्त पहिलो बैठकले संविधानसभा कार्यविधि नियमावली मस्यौदा समिति गठन गर्ने, अन्तरिम कार्यविधि प्रस्तुत गर्ने र पारित गर्ने कार्यक्रम छ । दलहरूबीच राजनीतिक सहमति जुटे यही बैठकले संविधानसभा अध्यक्षको चयन पनि गर्नेछ । 'सरकार गठनसम्मका सबै कुरामा दलबीच सहमति जुटेमा पहिलो बैठकबाट अध्यक्ष चयन हुने सम्भावना छ,' दलहरूबीचको बैठकमा उपस्थित एमाले नेता भीम रावलले भने ।

रत्नपार्कमा बिस्फोट

काठमांडू- संविधानसभा बैठकको अघिल्लो दिन राजधानीको रत्नपार्कमा बम बिस्फोट भएको छ । राजधानीको केन्द्रमा रहेको रत्नपार्कभित्रै जेठ १४ गते दिउँसो भएको बम बिस्फोटको आवाज ठूलो भए पनि कोही घाइते नभएको प्रहरीले बताएको छ ।

पुस्तकको अभावमा आजदेखि विद्यालय वन्द

काठमांडू- विद्यार्थीहरुलाइ पुस्तक उपलब्ध गराउन नसकेपछि शिक्षा मन्त्रालयले आजदेखि जेठ २८ गतेसम्मका लागि सामुदायिक विद्यालयहरु वन्द गर्ने निर्णय गरेको छ । पढाइ शुरु भएको तीन महिनासम्म पनि पाठ्यपुस्तक उपलब्ध गराउन नसक्दा विभिन्न स्थानमा विद्यार्थीहरुले निरन्तर प्रदर्शन गरेका थिए । प्रदर्शनलाइ रोक्न नसकेपछि सरकारले विद्यालय वन्दको उपाय अपनाएको हो । पुस्तक छाप्ने जिम्मा पाएको जनक शिक्षा सामाग्री केन्द्रले समयमै पुस्तक उपलब्ध गराउन नसकेपछि जटिल स्थिति सिर्जना भएको हो । केन्द्रले संविधानसभा मतपत्र छाप्नुपरेकाले किताव छाप्न नसकिएको वताउँदै आएको छ ।

माओवादी र श्रेष्ठ परिवारबीच सहमति, आन्दोलन फिर्ता

काठमांडू- नेकपा माओवादी र कोटेश्वरका व्यवसायी रामहरि श्रेष्ठका परिवारबीच सात बुंदे लिखित सहमति भएको छ ।आज भएको सहमतिमा माओवादीले आफ्ना कार्यकर्ताबाट भएको गल्तीको जिम्मेवारी लिदै माफी माग्ने, दोषीमाथि कारबाही गर्न सरकारद्वारा गठित आयोगलाई सहयोग पुर्‍याउने, मृतक परिवारलाई राहत प्रदान गर्ने लगायतका विषय समावेश भएको छ । माओवादीका तर्फबाट अध्यक्ष प्रचण्ड र पींडित परिवारका तर्फबाट श्रेष्ठ पत्नी रमिलाले हस्ताक्षर गर्नुभयो । परिवार र संघर्ष समितिले विगत एक हप्तायता जारी आन्दोलन फिर्ता लिएका छन् । काठमाडौंको शिक्षण अस्पतालमा राखिएको श्रेष्ठको शव अन्तिम श्रद्धाञ्जलीका लागि कोटेश्वर पुर्‍याइने बताइएको छ । उहांको आजै अन्तिम संस्कार गरिदै छ ।

Almost one-third of ethnic minorities here experience discrimination in Ireland

Dublin- Almost one-third of ethnic minorities in Ireland report having experienced discrimination.
That's according to a new report by the Economic and Social Research Institute and the Equality Authority. This research shows that 31 per cent of ethnic groups in Ireland report discrimination in areas such as job-hunting, accessing financial services or finding accommodation. That figure rises to 40 per cent among black people here.

पच्चीस भाषामा शपथ

काठमांडू- संविधानसभा सदस्यहरूले दुई दर्जनभन्दा बढी भाषामा शपथ खाने भएका छन् ।
आइतबार साँझसम्म संसद् सचिवालयमा करिब ८५ सभासद्ले आ-आफ्नो मातृभाषामा सपथ खाने लिखित जानकारी गराएका छन ।
सभासद्ले नेवारी, थारू पश्चिम, बाँतर, मैथली, सप्तरिया थारू, पूर्वेली मोरंगीया थारू, खवास, थारू, किराँत श्रृजंग लिपि, राजवंशी, मारवाडी, भोजपुरी, हिन्दी, मगर, लिम्बू, रानाथारू, ठेट मधेसी, लामा, मुस्लिम भाषा, तामाङ, गुरुङ, अठार मगरा, बाह्रे मगरा, लिम्बू र नेपाली भाषामा शपथ खाने भएका छन् । आज सभासद्हरूले आफ्नो पदको सपथ लिँदैछन् । संसद् सचिवालयले १४ जेठमा संविधानसभामा प्रतिनिधित्व गर्ने सबै दललाई बोलाएर मातृभाषामा शपथ खान चाहने सभासद्हरूले आइतबार साँझसम्म सचिवालयमा लिखित जानकारी गराउन समय दिएको थियो । सरकारले पहिलोपटक इच्छाअनसार आ-आफ्नो मातृभाषामा शपथ खान पाउने व्यवस्था गरेपछि सभासद्हरूले मातृभाषामा शपथ उल्था गरेर सचिवालयलाई बुझाएका छन् । यसअघि नेपाली भाषामा मात्रै सपथ खाने व्यवस्था थियो । यसपटक उनीहरूले देश र जनताका नाममा शपथ लिनेछन । अहिलेसम्म ईश्वर र संविधानका नाममा शपथ लिने चलन थियो । हिन्दी नेपाली मौलिक भाषा नभए पनि धेरै सभासद्हरूले हिन्दी भाषामा शपथ खाने भएका छन् ।

संसद् सचिवालयका अनुसार आइतबार साँझसम्म लिखित जानकारी गराउने सभासदहरूमध्ये दुई दर्जनबढीले शपथ खान हिन्दी भाषा रोजेका छन् । तराई-मधेस लोकतान्त्रिक पार्टीका नेता हृदयेश त्रिपाठी र सद्भावना पार्टीका अध्यक्ष राजेन्द्र महतोले पनि हिन्दी भाषामा शपथ खाने जानकारी सचिवालयलाई गराएका छन् । शनिबार मात्रै आफ्नो दलको प्रमुख सचेतक चुनिएका तराई मूलका एमाले नेता रामचन्द्र झाले मैथली भाषामा शपथ खाने भएका छन ।सभामुख सुवास नेम्वाङलगायत लिम्बू समुदायका सभासद्हरूले लिम्बू भाषामा शपथ लिने भएका छन् । सभामुख नेम्वाङका अनुसार लिम्बू सभासद्हरूले आइतबार मातृभाषामा शपथ उल्था गरेर सामूहिक रूपमा सचिवालयलाई जानकारी गराएका छन् ।त्यस्तै, स्थानीय विकासमन्त्री देव गुरुङले गुरुङ भाषामा सपथ खाने भएका छन् । उनले आईतबार संसद् सचिवालयलाई यसको जानकारी गराइसकेका छन् ।आ-आफ्नो क्षेत्रअनुसार फरक-फरक थारू भाषामा सपथ लिने सभासद्हरू पनि छन् । जस्तो पूर्वका थारू सभासद्ले 'पूर्वेली मोरंगीया थारू' भाषा भनेका छन् भने पश्चिमका थारू सभासद्ले 'पश्चिमी थारू' भाषा रोजेका छन । त्यस्तै, मध्य तराईका थारू सभासद्ले 'सप्तरिया थारू' भाषामा शपथ खाने जानकारी सचिवालयलाई गरएका छन् भने केही थारू सभासद्ले 'रानाथारू' भाषा रोजेका छन ।आइतबार साँझसम्म समय दिइएको भए पनि पाँच सय बढी सभासद्ले कुन भाषामा शपथ लिने भन्ने जानकारी सचिवालयलाई अझै गराएका छैनन् । उनीहरूले पनि मातृभाषामा शपथ लिने जानकारी गराए भाषा संख्या अझै थपिने अनुमान गरिएको छ । सोमबार साँझसम्म बाँकी सभासद्ले पनि जानकारी गराउने विश्वास सचिवालयले लिएको छ ।

राष्ट्रपति छुट्टै बनाउने सहमति

काठमांडू- संवैधानिक राष्ट्रपति र कार्यकारी प्रधानमन्त्रीको छुट्टाछुट्टै ब्यवस्था गर्ने नेपाली कांग्रेस र एमालेको प्रस्ताव माओवादीले स्विकारेपछि तीन दलबीच सहमति भएको छ ।

नेपाली कांग्रेस, एमाले र माओवादीबीच अन्तरिम संविधान संशोधन गरी संवैधानिक राष्ट्रपति र कार्यकारी प्रधानमन्त्रीको ब्यवस्था गर्ने सहमति भएको छ । जेठ १४ गते बिहान प्रधानमन्त्री निवास बालुवाटारमा भएको तीन दलबीचको छलफलले यस्तो सहमति गरेको एमाले महासचिव झलनाथ खनालले बताए । खनालले सहमति हुन बाँकि बिषयमा तीन दलबीच आजै बेलुका छलफल हुने पनि जानकारी दिए । तीन दलको छलफलले जेठ १५ गते गणतन्त्र कार्यन्वयनको प्रस्ताव संविधानसभा सचिवालयमा मन्त्रीपरिषदले दर्ता गर्ने तथा १५ गते नै प्रस्ताव संविधानसभा बैठकमा पेस गरी पारित गर्ने सहमति पनि गरेको छ । गणतन्त्र कार्यन्वयनको मस्यौदा तयार पार्न तीन दलले हिजै खिमलाल देवकोटा, बिमलेन्द्र निधी र भीम रावल रहेको कार्यदललाई जिम्मा दिइसकेका छन् । एमाले महासचिव खनालले गणतन्त्र कार्यन्वयनको अवसरमा सबै कार्यलय तीन दिनका लागि बिदा गर्ने तीन दलबीच सहमति भएको पनि जानकारी दिए । उनका अनुसार, तीन दिने बिदा जेठ १५ गते सुरु हुनेछ ।

Twin blasts in front of BICC

Kathmandu- Two bombs went off Monday afternoon in front of the Birendra International Convention Centre (BICC) at Naya Baneshwor, where the Constituent Assembly (CA) is to convene on Wednesday.
The blasts occurred simultaneously at the southern gate of the BICC at around 5:15 pm, but there was no human casualty or any damage of property. Eyewitnesses said two persons on a motorbike hurled the explosives and scurried away. Police said pamphlets found near the blast scene indicated that the blasts were carried out by a little-known Hindu fundamentalist outfit called Ranabir Sena.
Massive numbers of security personnel have been mobilised in the area following the blasts. Newly elected CA members are to be sworn in amid a ceremony at the BICC tomorrow.
The blasts occurred hours after the prohibitory orders issued by the local administration around the BICC and some other strategic locations came into effect.

Renewable energy firm to create 60 jobs in south east of Ireland

Dublin- A new renewable energy firm is to create up to 60 new jobs as part of a €6m investment in the south east. Waterford-based company Powerplan says it plans to create 15 full-time jobs and 45 contract jobs in the area. The initiative is a pilot project for a national plan to reduce carbon emissions and supply renewable energy to housing developments.

140 jobs to be created in Co Kerry

Dublin- 140 jobs are to be created in Killorglin, Co Kerry, after a company based in the county, Fexco, signed a contract to provide customer services for Bord Gáis.
The company takes over from the previous contract holder, Conduit. Its workers were offered the opportunity to transfer to Fexco but it is understood none did so. Fexco executive chairman Brian McCarthy said the company was particularly excited about working with Bord Gáis as it moves into the electricity market.
'We are committed to developing our business services outsourcing capability and growing the business offering significantly over the next number of years,' he said.

Chinese quake toll to top 80 thousand

Dublin- The Chinese government believes the death toll from the huge earthquake in Sichuan province will soon pass eighty-thousand. The current number stands at sixty-five thousand.
Two weeks on from the disaster, soldiers are preparing to explode quake debris blocking a river where rising waters are threatening to flood survivors.

माओवादीका नौ बुँदामा छलफल हुँदै

काठमांडू-माओवादीले राजनीतिक सहमतिका लागि पेस गरेको ९ बुँदामा तीन दलबीच छलफल हुदैछ ।

प्रधानमन्त्री निवास बालुवाटारमा जारी माओवादी, नेपाली कांग्रेस र एमालेका शीर्ष नेताबीचको छलफल माओवादीका ९ प्रस्तावमा केन्द्रित छ । श्रोतका अनुसार, माओवादी प्रस्तावको सारसंक्षेप यस प्रकार छ ।

गणतन्त्रको कार्यन्वयन दिन जेठ १५ गते सरकार र दलहरुको तर्फबाट बिशेष कार्यक्रम ल्याउने । राजनीतिक दलहरुबीच बिश्वासको वातावरण बढाउन बिगतका शान्ति सम्झौता, २३ बुँदे सहमति लगायत जनजाति र मधेशीसँगको सम्झौता र सहमति कार्यन्वयन गर्ने । कुटपिट, हत्या नगर्ने, शान्ति सुरक्षाको स्थिति सुदृढ पार्ने र वाईसीएलको सैनिक चरित्र अन्त्य गरि त्यसलाई पूर्णरुपमा राजनीतिक चरित्रको संगठन बनाउने । माओवादी जनमुक्ति सेनालाई शान्तिसम्झौता अनुसार राज्यको सुरक्षा बलमा समायोजन गर्ने । गिरिजाप्रसाद कोइरालालाई सम्मानित नेता बनाउने तथा उनलाई संरक्षकको भूमिका दिने । गणतन्त्र कार्यन्वयनपछि पनि प्रधानमन्त्रीले नै राष्ट्रप्रमुखको भूमिका निर्वाह गर्ने अहिलेको संवैधानिक ब्यवस्था कायम राख्ने । नयाँ सरकार गठनका लागि अन्तरिम संविधानमा ब्यवस्था गरिएको दुई तिहाई बहुमत आवश्यक पर्ने संवैधानिक प्रावधानलाई निरन्तरता दिने । नयाँ सरकारमा पार्टीहरुले तुलनात्मक हैसियतका आधारमा भाग पाउने । पेट्रोलियम पदार्थको आपूर्ति सहज बनाउने ।

माओवादीले प्रस्तुत गरेको ९ बुँदामा संविधान संशोधन नगर्ने उल्लेखित केही बुँदाबाहेक बिबादस्पद नभएको श्रोतले बताएको छ । दलहरुबीच राजनीतिक सहमति नबने पनि आजको छलफलले गणतन्त्र कार्यन्वयनको दिन सरकार र दलहरुले बिशेष कार्यक्रम ल्याउने बुँदामा भने सहमति गर्ने श्रोतको दावी छ ।

Metro 'could bring 37,000 jobs to north Dublin'

Dublin- The proposed metro line planned for north Dublin could lead to the creation of thousands of new jobs over the coming decades, according to Fingal County Council.

The council has launched a new strategy plan today that aims to take advantage of the metro by doubling economic activity in the area that it serves. It says 37,000 jobs could be created over the next 20 years if the plan comes to fruition. The proposals also include locating a new university and hospital within the area served by the Metro North project.

Rail passengers face more delays

Dublin- Around 10, 000 passengers are expected to face further disruption today as train drivers continue their unofficial strike action. Iarnród Éireann is predicting another day of delays and cancellations on services to and from Cork and Kerry. The dispute began when the company took action against a driver who refused to facilitate the training of new drivers.

Japan to take in Nepali workers

Kathmandu - Japanese officials have agreed to accept Nepali semi-skilled and skilled trainee workers for employment with different business enterprises in Japan, said a top Nepali official.

Shyam Prasad Mainali, secretary at the Ministry of Labor and Transport Management (MoLTM), said officials of the two countries have signed Minutes of Understanding, specifying priorities in the process of recruiting Nepalis for jobs in Japan.

The minutes were signed in Tokyo by Mainali and the vice president of the Japan International Training and Co-operation Organization (JITCO) - the government entity there for overseeing the training and recruitment of workers. Mainali said both sides agreed to designate Nepali institutions with authority to send trainees to one of the most lucrative labor destinations, and also to adopt measures to check possible cheating of job seekers during the recruitment process.
Japan is expected to absorb Nepali workers mainly in the industrial and agriculture sectors.

Dublin houses attacked with explosive devices

Dublin- Separate investigations are under way in Dublin city centre after two houses were attacked with suspected explosive devices. Gardaí are examining a device that was thrown into the back garden of a house on Francis Street at about 11.30pm last night.
The house was occupied at the time, but there are no reports of any injuries. The area has been sealed off and the army bomb disposal unit is at the scene. There was an arson attack on a house in the Tymon North estate at around 12.30am. No one was in the house at the time, but several residents in the estate were evacuated. Gardaí are not saying at this stage whether the two attacks are linked.

Tallaght house destroyed by petrol bomb

Dublin- A petrol bomb has destroyed a house in Dublin.

Gardaí say it was thrown into a vacant house in Tallaght at around 12.30am last night. The incident took place in the Tymon North estate. No one was injured, however, extensive damage was caused to the house.

Galway and Westport trains back in action

Dublin- Galway and Westport train services are operating normally today.Iarnród Éireann has said services affected as part of on-going unofficial strike action are back running.However drivers based in Cork are continuing to refuse to work normal rosters causing significant disruption to rail services in Cork and Kerry.The stoppage began when a Cork-based driver refused to facilitate training of new drivers and was taken off the payroll.Around 20,000 passengers were affected by some 30 services being cancelled yesterday.

China earthquake death toll rises

China- The death toll in the earthquake in China has risen to more than fifty-five-thousand.
A Government official has revealed the higher death toll, eleven days after the quake struck the Sichuan province.
Meanwhile, It's thought it could take three years to rebuild towns and villages completely destroyed in the Chinese earthquake. Officials say some will need to be relocated altogether because the terrain isn't safe.

Survey sheds light on drink and drug use in Ireland

Dublin- More than half of young people binge drink regularly and half have also used illegal drugs. Thats according to new research on the behaviour of young people in Ireland.
The research will be presented at an international conference on Alcohol and Drug Use in Young People taking place today at University College Dublin. The research was conducted on a sample of almost 500 15-19 year olds living in the South and South East regions.

Dublin pair near Everest summit

Dublin- Dubliners Graham Kinch and Ian Taylor look likely to reach the summit of Mount Everest today.

They have undertaken the challenge to raise funds to build a school in Uganda. The two climbers had expected to have finished their expedition over a week ago but their challenge was delayed due to the Chinese closing the summit trail on the Tibetan side of Everest for the Olympic Torch Ascent. Its believed the men have suffered minor frost bite during their acclimatisation.

Irish commuters disrupted by rail strikes

Dublin- Up to 15,000 Irish rail passengers are facing further disruption today because of unofficial industrial action by drivers. Five Cork to Heuston services are cancelled this morning, as are all Cork to Cobh and Cork to Mallow trains.
The 08.50 Cork to Tralee service won't go ahead, and a number of Galway and Athlone services to Heuston are cancelled. There'll also be bus transfers provided around Mallow services.
It's unclear when this row, which centres on training rosters, will be resolved.

अर्घाखाचीमा ४२ गाविस छन् । सन्धिखर्कपछि वाङ्गला विकसित गाविसका रूपमा चिनिन्छ । सबै गाविसमा हिउदे मोटरबाटो पुगेपछि जिल्ला समग्ररूपमा केही अघि आएको महसुस सदरमुकामबाट टाढाटाढाका बासिन्दाले पनि गरेका छन् । झन्डै ३० गाविसमा विद्युतीकरण आंशिकरूपमा भइसकेको छ । खानेपानीको समस्या भने अधिकांश गाविसको साझाजस्तै छ ।
सदरमुकाम सन्धिखर्कबाट ५ किलोमिटर पूवमा पर्ने मेरो वाङ्गला गाविसमा विद्युतीकरणको राम्रो प्रभाव परेको छ । अधिकांश घरमा टेलिभिजन पुगेको छ । विगतमा काठमाडौबाट कहिलेकाही घर जादा पनि समाचार र देशको बारेमा जानकारी नपाइने यो ठाउमा अचेल केबल लाइन विस्तार भएको छ । झन्डै १६ वटा च्यानलले गर्दा समाचारको भोको हुन पर्दैन । अधिकांश नेपाली च्यानल र केही अन्यले गाउ रमाइलो भएको छ ।

गाईबस्तु चराउन जंगलमा गएको भाइ फोनमा भन्दै थियो- दाइ म त बडाखोलाको ठूलो पीपलको बोट मुनि बसेको छु । त्यो हरियाली र मनोरम दृश्यको सम्झनाले घरीघरी गाउमै फर्किन मन लाग्छ । ठाउठाउका पीपलका रुख र चौतारीको स्वच्छ बतासले मन आनन्दित बनाउछ । यसरी उपलब्ध साधन-स्रोत संरक्षण गर्ने हो भने भौगालिक विविधता भएको देशमा थुप्रै सम्भावना हुन सक्छन् । मलाई घरीघरी विचार आउछ त्यो बडाखोलाको सुन्दर जंगलबीचमा एक राम्रो रिसोर्ट चल्न सक्छ । यहाको मधुर वातावरणमा पर्यटनको सम्भावना उत्तिकै छ । यसलाई पर्यटकीय गाउमा परिवर्तन गर्न सक्ने हो भने युवाले गाउमै अवसर पाउने र देशले पनि विदेशी मुद्रा आर्जन गर्न सक्ने थियो ।

त्यो तल्लाचौरी, मन्यादि अलि तल गएपछिको तल्लाखर्कलाई व्यवस्थित गर्न सकिने थियो । वाङ्गला गाविसमै रहेको मथुरा धार्मिक तथा पर्यटकीयरूपमा निकै सम्भावना बोकेको स्थान हो । यहा सन्धिखर्कबाट पनि पिकनिकका लागि मानिस आउछन् ।
सुन्दैछु सन्धिखर्क तम्घास मोटरबाटो पिच हुने प्रकृयामा छ । पहिलो चरणमा सन्धिखर्कदेखि वाङ्गलासम्मको सात किलोमिटर बाटो पिच गर्न तयारी भइरहेको छ । वाङ्गला गाविसकै बाटोमा पर्ने मोती पुस्तकालयको आफ्नै महत्व छ । सहिद मोतीको नाममा स्थापित पुस्तकालय केही समय जीण् बन्दै गएको थियो । मैले त्यस विषयमा लेखेको थिए । उक्त लेखको प्रभावले गाउलेले यसलाई व्यवस्थित गर्न लागेको थाहा पाउदा खुसी लागेको छ । पुस्तकालयमा धेरै पुस्तक संकलन र केही रकम उठाएर यसलाई व्यवस्थित गर्न समिति पनि गठन गरिएको रहेछ । मोटरबाटो पुगेकाले काठमाडौंमा प्रकाशित हुने पत्रिका तथा प्रतिवेदन र अन्य पुस्तक पनि पुर्याउने हो भने यही बसेर अनुसन्धान गर्न सकिन्छ । यहा पुग्ने पर्यटकका लागि पुस्तक पढ्ने स्थान पनि हुन सक्छ । सरकारले यस्ता सम्भावना बोकेका गाउलाई व्यवस्थित गर्न बिस्तारै बजेट विनियोजन गर्ने हो भने पढेलेखेका पनि पढाइ सकाएपछि काठमाडौंमै बस्ने मानसिकताबाट मुक्त हुने थिए ।

गाउमै अवसर पाएपछि गाउ जानेको क्रम पनि बढ्ने थियो । मैले अध्ययन गरेको जीवनोद्धार माध्यमिक विद्यालय उच्च मावि बनिसकेको छ । एसएलसी पास गरेपछि गाउ नछाडे अध्ययन छुट्ने सम्भावनाबाट यहाका युवाले मुक्ति पाएका छन् । पानीको समस्या पूरा गर्न कुन्टी पधेरो संरक्षणका लागि गाविसले केही रकम छुटयाएको रहेछ । पानीका स्रोतको उचित व्यवस्थापन गर्न आवश्यक सचेतना कार्यक्रमको अभाव महसुस भएको छ मलाई ।
ठाउ-ठाउमा राखिएका टेलिफोनले र्सवसाधारणलाई फोन गर्नकै लागि सदरमुकामसम्म आइरहनु पर्दैन । गाउलेसग अव्यवस्थित ज्ञान छ । अनुसन्धान गर्नेका लागि गाउ त एक विश्वविद्यालय हो । यहाको ज्ञानले ठूल-ठूला सिद्धान्त बन्न सक्छन् । यसका लागि सरकारले ध्यान पुर्याउन जरुरी छ । मेरो गाउ विकसित हुदै गएको देख्दा मन आनन्दित हुन्छ । राम्रो विकासका लागि सरकारले पनि ध्यान दियो भने यो पर्यटकीय क्षेत्र पनि बन्न सक्छ ।

China- China has said the death toll from the most devastating earthquake in three decades had reached 51,151, with 29,328 still missing.
Authorities had previously expected the final death toll to exceed 50,000. State Council Information office figures released today show that the number of dead had increased by nearly 10,000 from the previous day. It said more than 288,000 people were injured by the 7.9 magnitude quake in southwest China on 12 May.

Shots fired at house in Dublin

Dublin- An investigation is underway after two shots were fired at a house in Dublin shortly after midnight last night.
Two children and two adults were sleeping in the house at the time of the shooting.
The shooting took place shortly after midnight last night on Hanover Street West in Dublin 8.
Two shots were fired, one at the front door and one at the front window, breaking the glass.
A man and woman and two children were sleeping in the house at the time of the shooting. Gardai say two men were seen acting suspiciously in the area.
Anyone with information or anyone who may have witnessed the shooting is asked to contact Kevin Street garda Station on 01-6669400.

Mayor of South Dublin dies

Dublin- The Mayor of South Dublin has died after a short illness.
Green Party Councillor Billy Gogarty had been unanimously elected to the post in June of last year. Councillor Gogarty was co-opted onto South Dublin County Council in 2006 following the sudden death of Councillor Fintan McCarthy in China.
The removal will take place from Cllr Gogarty's home to St Mary's Church, Lucan at 7pm tomorrow. He is survived by his wife Mary, his Son Paul, his daughter-in-law Heidi and grand-daughter Hazel.

हत्याको प्रमाण लुकाइने सम्भावना

काठमांडू- माओवादी अध्यक्ष प्रचण्डलाई ज्ञापनपत्र बुझाएका जवाफदेहिता निगरानी समितिका सदस्यहरुले संचारकर्मीबीच रामहरि श्रेष्ठको हत्याको प्रमाण लुकाउन प्रयास भइरहेको बताएका छन् ।

रामहरि श्रेष्ठको हत्यामा संलग्नहरुलाई कारवाही गर्न अनुरोध गर्दै 'जवाफदेहिता निगरानी समिति' ले माओवादी अध्यक्ष प्रचण्डलाई भेटेर ज्ञापनपत्र दिएको छ । जेठ ८ गते बिहान प्रचण्डलाई भेटेपछि राजधानीमा रिपोर्टस क्लबमा पत्रकार सम्मेलन गर्दै समितिका संयोजक मन्दिरा शर्माले श्रेष्ठको हत्यासम्बन्धि प्रमाण लुकाउन भइरहेको प्रयासप्रति सचेत हुनुपर्ने बताइन् । समितिका सदस्य चरण प्रसाईले कार्यक्रममा माओवादीले नै श्रेष्ठको हत्यामा संलग्न भएको स्विकारेका दुई छापामार बेपत्ता रहेको तथा उनीहरु पनि मारिनसक्ने आशंका गरे ।
समितिका अर्का सदस्य सुशिल प्याकुरेलले २४ घण्टा संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघीय मिशनको पहरा हुनुपर्ने छापामार शिविरमा हत्या हुनुले अनमिनको असफलता प्रमाणित भएको धारणा राखे । प्याकुरेलले श्रेष्ठको हत्यामा माओवादीसँगै सरकार पनि दोषी रहेको पनि उल्लेख गरे । हत्यापछि अनुसन्धानको काममा तत्परता नदेखाएकाले सरकार दोषी रहेको उनको धारणा थियो । माओवादी अध्यक्ष प्रचण्डलाई समितिले बुझाएको दुई पेज लामो ज्ञापनपत्रमा 'तपाईको नेतृत्वमा रहेको जनसेनाबाट रामहरि श्रेष्ठको हत्या नियोजित प्रकरण देखिएकोले तपाईले जनसेनाको सुप्रीम कमाण्डर भएको नातामा यस हत्याको जिम्मेवारी लिदै यसको जवाफदेही किटान गरि समस्त दोषीलाई कानुनी दायरामा ल्याएर जनतालाई आश्वस्त पार्नु आवश्यक छ ।'

Ireland fails to qualify for Eurovision final

Dublin- Dustin the Turkey has failed to make it through to the final of the Eurovision Song Contest.
'Irlande Douze Points' got a mixed reaction in the Belgrade arena last night, but was eventually ranked 12th out of 19 acts in the first semi final of this year's competition. The final will be held on Saturday night.

Stamps to honour Irish Trad bands

Dublin- Traditional Irish bands such as Planxty and De Dannan will be celebrated in stamps issued later this year.
It is the second phase of a series of stamps that mark important aspects of Ireland’s musical tradition.The Tulla Ceili Band and The Bothy Band will also be featured. Illustrated by artist Finbarr O’Connor, the stamps will be issued on October 10. The centenary of the 1908 Old Age Pension Act will also be remembered in another series of stamps in September. Classical composers Handel and Chopin will also be celebrated.

Jobs fear grows at Waterford Crystal

Dublin- Fears are growing for the future of 500 jobs at Waterford Crystal.

The company's operation is now in doubt, after the Government refused to guarantee a multi-million euro loan to keep it afloat. Waterford Wedgewood had appealed to the Government for financial support after it was forced to cut 490 jobs last year. The Cabinet yesterday decided not to grant the €39m loan, fearful that it could open the flood gates to other companies seeking help.

However the Government has said it was willing to provide other types of assistance, like re-training or funding for research and development. UNITE trade union, which represents the 550 workers whose jobs are now in jeopardy, has said it will issue a statement on its future intentions, after it has been fully informed of the decision.

दाङ दुर्घटनामा मर्नेको संख्या ४२

दाङमा हिजो भएको यात्रुवस दुर्घटनामा परी मर्नेको संख्या अहिलेसम्म ४२ पुगेको छ । साँझ ६ बजेसम्म उद्दारकर्मीले ४२ जनाको शव नदीवाट निकालेको जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय दाङले जनाएको छ । मृत्यु हुनेमा ३२ पुरुष र १० महिला रहेका छन् । मृतकको संख्या वढ्दै गएपछि जिल्ला प्रशासनले शवको पोष्टमार्टम घटनास्थलम गर्न शुरु गरेको छ । सनाखत भएका शवलाइ आफन्तको जिम्मा लाउनेक्रम जारी रहेको छ । कपिलवस्तुको कृष्णनगरवाट प्यूठानको दम्ती जाँदै गरेको यात्रुवस दाङको लालमटियावाट राप्ती नदीमा सखेको थियो । हिजो र आज दिनभरी समेत सुरक्षाकर्मी उद्दारमा सक्रिय रहेका छन् ।

बुद्धजयन्ती विश्वभर मनाइँदै

काठमाडौं- संसारमा दुःख छ र दुःख हटाउन सके निर्वाण वा शान्ति प्राप्त हुन्छ भन्ने ज्ञानका प्रवर्त्तक गौतमबुद्धको २५५२औँ जयन्ती आज विश्वभर मनाइँदैछ ।
बुद्धको जन्म, ज्ञान प्राप्ति, महापरिनिर्वाण (मृत्यु) वैशाख पूर्णिमाकै तिथिमा परेकाले यस दिन नेपाललगायत विश्वका बौद्ध धर्मावलम्बीले बुद्धप्रति भावपूर्ण श्रद्धा र भक्तिले बुद्धजयन्ती मनाउने गर्छन् । वि.सं. २००८ जेठ ८ गते बुद्धजयन्तीका दिन पहिलोपटक सार्वजनिक बिदा तथा वि.सं. २०१२ फागुन ७ गते लुम्बिनीमा बुद्धजयन्तीका दिन हत्या, हिंसामाथि प्रतिबन्धको घोषणा गरिएको थियो ।
विश्वशान्तिका अग्रदूत मानिएका गौतमबुद्धको जन्मजयन्तीका दिन संयुक्त राष्ट्रसङ्घीय प्रणालीमा पनि सन् २००२ देखि सार्वजनिक बिदा दिइँदै आएको छ ।

माओवादी सेनाको 'कू' हुनसक्ने

काठमांडू- कोटेश्वर घटनाले माओवादी सेनाबाट लोकतान्त्रिक पद्धतिबिरुद्ध 'कू' हुनसक्ने खतरा देखिएको राजनीतिक बिश्लेषक निलाम्बर आचार्यले बताएका छन् । 
राजनीतिक बिश्लेषक निलाम्बर आचार्यले माओवादी जनमुक्ति सेनाबाट कोटेश्वरका ब्यवसायी रामहरि श्रेष्ठको हत्या हुनुले मुलुकमा माओवादी सेनाको 'कू' हुने सम्भावना बढेको बताएका छन् । जेठ ७ राजधानीमा रिपोर्टस क्लबले आयोजना गरेको अन्तरक्रियामा बोल्दै आचार्यले संविधानसभा चुनावपछि पूर्व शाही नेपाली सेना अर्थात राष्ट्रि सेनाबाट 'कू' हुने खतरा नरहेको तर लोकतान्त्रिक पद्धतिबिरुद्ध माओवादी सेनाबाट 'कू' हुने खतरा बढेको धारणा राखे ।
माओवादी नेताबीचको खिचलो तथा माओवादी नेतृत्वले गर्ने जनमुक्ति सेनामाथिको अनुशाषन कारवाहीका कारण हुनसक्ने 'कू' संग सतर्क रहन पनि आचार्यले माओवादी नेतृत्वलाई आग्रह गरे ।
संविधानसभाले राजतन्त्र समाप्त गरेको तथा गणतन्त्रले अन्तराष्ट्रिय मान्यतासमेत पाईसकेकाले राजालाई पत्र पठाउनु र दरवार छाडन राजालाई आग्रह गर्नु वाहियात भएको बिचार कार्यक्रममा आचार्यले राखे । 'संविधानसभाको निर्णयले राजतन्त्र फाल्ने हो, राजासँग सल्लाहा गरिरहनुपर्ने आवश्यक्ता छैन' आचार्यले भने । गणतन्त्र कार्यन्वयनपछि राष्ट्रपति, प्रधानमन्त्री र सरकार गठनबारे छलफल गर्नु उपयुक्त हुने पनि आचार्यको बिचार थियो ।
कार्यक्रमका अर्का वक्ता माओवादी जनमुक्ति सेनाका डेपुटी कमाण्डर तथा माओवादी केन्द्रीय सदस्य जनार्दन शर्मा प्रभाकरले कोटेश्वर घटना माओवादीलाई सच्चिन प्रेरित गर्ने घटना भएको बताए । कोटेश्वर घटनाको पार्टीले अनुसन्धान गर्ने, सरकारले उच्चस्तरीय छानवीन आयोग बनाएर अनुसन्धान गर्नुपर्ने तथा हत्यामा संलग्नहरुलाई कारवाही गर्न पार्टीले अवरोध खडा नगर्ने पनि प्रभाकरले उल्लेख गरे । नयाँ सरकार गठन गर्न प्रधानमन्त्री गिरिजाप्रसाद कोइरालाले राजीनामा दिई बाटो खोल्नुपर्ने पनि प्रभाकरको भनाइ थियो ।
एमाले स्थायी समिति सदस्य भरतमोहन अधिकारीले रामहरि श्रेष्ठको हत्याको घटनाले माओवादीको ब्यवहार अझै नसुध्रिएको प्रमाणित भएको तथा यस्तो अवस्थामा माओवादीले एमालेको सहयोग पाउने सम्भावना कम रहेको बताए । सरकारको स्वरुपबारे माओवादीले अहिलेसम्म कुनै प्रस्ताव नल्याएकाले एमालेले सरकारमा जाने या नजानेबारे निर्णय नगरेको कार्यक्रममा अधिकारीले उल्लेख गरे । जेठ १५ गते गणतन्त्र दिवस मनाउन सरकारले कार्यक्रम अघि सार्नुपर्ने पनि अधिकारीको भनाइ थियो ।
जनमोर्चा अध्यक्ष अमिक शेरचनले संविधानसभा बैठकले गणतन्त्र कार्यन्वयनको घोषणा गर्ने तथा गणतन्त्र दिवस दुई दिन मनाउनुपर्ने धारणा राखे ।

कोटेश्वरका ब्यवसायी रामहरि श्रेष्ठको हत्याको छानवीन गर्न उच्च स्तरीय छानवीन आयोग गठन हुनुपर्ने, हत्यामा प्रत्यक्ष संलग्न माओवादी जनमुक्ति सेनाका डिभिजन कमाण्डर बिबिधलाई पक्राउ गरी कारवाही गरिनुपर्ने तथा श्रेष्ठको लास परिवारलाई दिनुपर्ने माग राख्दै जेठ ८ गते उपत्यका बन्द हुने भएको छ । श्रेष्ठको हत्याको बिरोधमा आन्दोलन गरिरहेको नागरिक समाजका संयोजक ज्ञानकुमार श्रेष्ठका अनुसार, नागरिक समाजको आन्दोलनको समर्थनमा जेठ ६ गते युवा बिद्यार्थीहरुले राजधानीका चोकहरुमा कोण सभा गर्दैछन् । सरकारले उच्चस्तरीय आयोग गठनलगायत अन्य माग पूरा नगरे आन्दोलनका थप कार्यक्रम घोषणा गरिने नागरिक समाजका संयोजक श्रेष्ठले जानकारी दिए ।
माग पूरा गराउन प्रधानमन्त्री गिरिजाप्रसाद कोइरालासँग भेटिसकेको नागरिक समाजका संयोजक श्रेष्ठका अनुसार, प्रधानमन्त्रीले आयोग गठन गर्ने आश्वासन दिए पनि मन्त्री परिषदको बैठक बोलाएका छैनन् । मन्त्री परिषदको बैठकले मात्र शक्तिसाली आयोग गठन गर्नसक्छ । जेठ ९ गते मन्त्री परिषद बैठक बोलाएर आयोग गठन गरे तथा अन्य माग पूरा गर्ने प्रक्रिया अघि बढाए आन्दोलनका थप कार्यक्रम नल्याइने पनि श्रेष्ठले जानकारी दिए ।

€25,000 for sexual harassment text

Dublin- A Dublin recruitment firm has been ordered to pay €25,000 to one of its former employees, after she was sacked following a claim of sexual harassment.
The woman had recieved messages from her boss' phone during a night out with colleagues, but was dismissed after she complained.The manager in question claimed the messages were sent from his phone - but without his knowledge.

Average rent falls for 1st time in 4 years

Dublin- Rents have fallen for the first time in four years. That's according to property website DAFT.IE, which says payments have dropped by 2% since January. The average rent paid is now €1,396, down from €1,400 euro at the end of last year.

Aer Lingus plane being checked after smoke was found coming from the aircraft

Dublin- An investigation is underway after smoke was detected coming from an Aer Lingus plane at Dublin Airport earlier this morning.
The flight from New York landed in Dublin at about twenty past five and as the aircraft was taxing on stand, a member of Aer Lingus ground staff noticed what appeared to be smoke coming from the wheel of the plane. All 11 crew members and 272 passengers disembarked normally. The plane's currently being checked before re-entering service.

Commuters asked for opinions on Dublin transport system

Dublin- Commuters will have a say in the future of Dublin’s transportation system for the first time.

A vision of the capital’s road, rail and tram links will go under public scrutiny as transport chiefs consult future projects with members of the public. The Dublin Transportation Office (DTO) will take submissions from commuters, motorists, cyclists and pedestrians through a new public consultation website www.2030vision.ie. The strategy, to run from up to 2030, will replace Transport 21.

John Henry, DTO director, said transport in the greater Dublin area impacts on millions of people throughout the country. “We are planning for the people so the people should know what we are doing, what we are saying, and we should know what that they are saying,” he said. “Whether you live in the Dublin region, or you travel to Dublin to work or college every day, or simply for occasional shopping or socialising, almost everybody in Ireland comes to Dublin and so has their own opinion on transport.

“We want to hear all views on what the key transport issues are, and to learn what people feel the objectives for Dublin’s transport should be.”Consultations have already taken place with business and community groups, tourism organisations, and representatives from counties Dublin, Kildare, Meath and Wicklow.The strategy has now being opened for public input before a consultation process begins through advertising, public meetings and websites.Launching the scheme, Transport Minister Noel Dempsey there will eventually be fewer cars in the city centre, but stressed it would remain open for business.Mr Dempsey also attempted to ease concerns of massive disruption for motorists and businesses during the construction of the Metro North and Interconnector between 2010 and 2015.“We are trying to create a world class transportation system for the greater Dublin area,” he said.“This will entail some disruption, but we plan to minimise that to ensure people can continue to do their business and travel through the city.“Works will be taking place at different places at different times, and whatever disruptions there will be confined to a particular area.“We are also mapping out public utility works so that can be carried out at the same time.”Mr Henry revealed a congestion charge, like the one enforced in London, “could come” in to Dublin city.“We are going to have to look at that at some stage in the future,” he said.“But it’s too early to say what there might be.”He also stressed private cars may be rerouted from the main thoroughfares.

“All we need is access to shops in the city centre,” he added.“Traffic that has no need to be there should be rerouted to go elsewhere.”Meanwhile, the Green Party will launch its submission to the Government’s public consultation on Sustainable Travel and Transport tomorrow.Transports spokesman Ciaran Cuffe said the ten point plan promotes a sustainable transport system that will reduce our dependence on increasingly expensive fossil fuels.

Irish Schools seek guidlines on Hijab

Wexford- The principal of a Wexford Secondary school has called on the government to issue guidelines on the wearing of the muslim Hijab in state schools.
Nicholas Sweetman from Gorey Community School wrote to then Minister Mary Hanafin last October saying help from the department would clarify the issue for schools and Muslim parents.
A Muslim couple had asked that their child be allowed wear the headscarf in class - and the principal agreed, pending approval by the board of management.The board wrote to the minister for guidelines, who later replied saying it was a matter for them to decide

The mourning started with a three-minute silence to mark a week since the devastating earthquake struck Sichuan province. The death toll's passed thirty-two thousand. President Hu Jintao has promised to keep looking for thousands of people still missing.

One-fifth of schoolgirls fall victim to cyber bullies

Dublin- One-fifth of Irish schoolgirls have fallen victim to cyber-bullying, according to a new survey being publicised today.

More than 2,700 children across the country took part in the study, commissioned by the Irish Independent newspaper and 'Prime Time Investigates'. The research found that children as young as 12 are being targeted by bullies via mobile phone calls, text messages and internet sites.

One-in-seven children said they had been subjected to such bullying, with girls more likely to fall victim. One in 11 pupils admitted that they had engaged in cyber bullying through emails, internet forums, chat rooms and social networking sites.

Dublin shop workers 'bribed to help in €1m laser card fraud'

Dublin- Around €1m has been stolen from 300 bank accounts in one of the largest incidents of bank card fraud ever in Ireland.
It is understood bank cards were cloned at points of sale in shops and restaurants around Dublin in the last few weeks. It is understood that criminals paid shop and restaurant workers up to €10,000 to skim laser cards and find out their pin numbers by looking over their shoulder - a practice called "shoulder surfing".
The criminals withdrew cash from the unsuspecting victims in countries around mainland Europe, including Italy, Romania and Spain. The largest single amount stolen from one account was €7,800.Most of the withdrawals took place at the end of April and in early May, and many of the customers contacted their bank themselves to notify them of the irregularities because the banks fraud detection systems failed to pick up on the activity.

No winner of 5 million euro Lotto jackpot

Dublin- There was no winner of last night's Lotto jackpot worth five million euro.
The numbers drawn were 10, 21, 24, 27, 29, and 39. The bonus number was 7.
Wednesday's jackpot is now heading for 6 million euro.

Three days of national mourning in China

China- There will be three days of national mourning in China following the devastating earthquake. The country has suspended the Beijing Olympic torch relay as a mark of respect for the victims.
The country's President has voiced his gratitude for international relief. Thirty-two thousand people are now known to have died following the tremor. Strong aftershocks are continuing in some of the worst affected areas. Nine-thousand are believed to be buried under the rubble - but most are feared dead.

Older drivers more environmentally aware, says report

Dublin- Older motorists are more environmentally aware than their younger counterparts, according to a report issued today.
The 2008 Motoring Report, issued by insurance company Hibernian revealed that the group that seems most likely to be environmentally conscious are those over 50, with 31% of this group saying they think about emissions “often” - as opposed to just 15% of the under 36 group who said so.
“This appears to fly in the face of popular perceptions of younger people being more environmentally conscious overall,” said Hibernian Insurance managing director Dick O’Driscoll. A quarter of motorists think about carbon emissions from their car “frequently” and some 37% of motorists think about it at least occasionally.
Quite surprisingly, Among the 61% of motorists who do consider the environment, there does appear to be some attempt towards actions. Some 38% of these people claim that they are walking or cycling more, while as many as three in 10 claim that they are driving less often.A further one in five claim that they have purchased a car with a smaller engine size along with a similar proportion who are using environmentally friendly fuel. It was found that 17% of respondents have also claimed switching to public transport as their main method of getting around.

Electricity restored after outage in Cork

Dublin- Electricity has been restored to thousands of homes and business in Cork city following a power cut. A fault disrupted supply from three ESB sub-stations. Emergency teams worked for a number of hours to repair the damage and restore power to those affected. Most sets of traffic lights throughout Cork city were either faulty or completely out of order due to the outage.

25% of schools report child abuse in Ireland

Dublin- One in four primary schools have reported cases of suspected child abuse to the HSE.
According to a survey of school principals the suspected abuse ranged from neglect to physical or sexual abuse.
The INTO survey also claims the designated school staff that deal with the abuse issue are not properly trained for the role. Over half of those staff said they had no Department of Education training, while the majority of those who did receive training felt it was inadequate. The responce of the HSE in such cases was also criticised in the survey.

Increase in support for Lisbon Treaty

Dublin- The latest opinion poll shows a rise in support for the Lisbon Treaty.
The Irish Times TNS MRBI survey, shows 35 per cent of people said they would vote YES: that's up nine points on the last poll in January. The NO camp also showed an increase in support with 18 per cent saying they'll vote against it; that's up from 10 per cent last time. However - 47 per cent, said they still hadn't decided which way they would vote.That's 17 per cent fewer undecideds than were recorded in January.

China quake toll rises to nearly 30,000

China- Chinese authorities say the number of people killed by Monday's shattering earthquake's risen to nearly thirty-thousand.
Survivors were found today, five days after the disaster, including a German tourist who was pulled from rubble after being buried for 114 hours. Meanwhile, thousands of people have fled amid fears a lake would burst its banks in Beichuan, near the epicentre of the earthquake.
People were told to flee to the hillsides. A British Rescue team's been denied entry to the country to help with the clean up operation.

Irish troops set to depart to Chad

Dublin- More than 160 troops bound for eastern Chad will depart Ireland tonight for one of their most dangerous and challenging missions to date.
The members of the Defence Forces 97 Infantry Battalion will begin a four-month tour of duty as part of the Eufor peacekeeping operation in the troubled African state. The humanitarian mission will involve the creation of a secure setting for more than 400,000 refugees and internally displaced persons (IDP's) occupying refugee camps along the border with Darfur.

In temperatures soaring over 50 degrees Celsius, Irish troops will man patrols across the region and support aid agencies. Defence Minister Willie O'Dea said the tour will be one of the most challenging missions ever undertaken by the troops as members of Oglaigh na hEireann.
"The mission in Chad, without doubt, has its risks but more than 400,000 refugees fleeing the bloody conflict in Darfur need our help," he said."A total of 390 Irish troops will be on the ground in Chad when tonight's contingent land tomorrow morning."
On the June 1, a further 150 troops will leave Ireland for Chad which will bring to almost 550 the number of personnel serving on the ground in the region."

Burma increases cyclone death toll

Burma- Burma's rulers say the death toll's risen to nearly seventy-eight thousand, following the devastating cyclone. Independent experts say the actual number is probably far higher and closer to two-hundred thousand. The latest figures came as the country's military junta says the emergency aid effort has ended.

Cork electronics plant to shut

Cork (Ireland)- It's been confirmed that an electronics plant in Cork is to close, with the loss of all 138 jobs. Mosts of the workers at Hormann's Electronics are being made redundant today, with the remainder losing their jobs at the end of the month.
A reciever was appointed to the plant last week, after it ran into financial difficulties because of "challenging market conditions". Staff have been told they'll only recieve statutory redundancy payments.

काठमाडौं- नेपालमा आन्तरिक उडान गरिरहेका निजी वायुसेवा कम्पनीहरूले हवाई भाडा साढे १२ प्रतिशतले बढाउने निर्णय गरेका छन् ।
नेपाल आयल निगमले बुधबारदेखि लागू हुने गरी आन्तरिक उडानका लागि हवाई इन्धनमा प्रतिलिटर १० रुपियाँका दरले मूल्यवृद्धि गरेपछि वायुसेवा सञ्चालकहरूले त्यसकै अनुपातमा हवाई भाडा बढाउने निर्णय गरेका हुन् ।
हवाई इन्धनको मूल्यवृद्धिपछि वायुसेवा सञ्चालनमा थप आर्थिक भार पर्न गएको एवम् हालको मूल्यवृद्धिलाई समेत समायोजन गरी सोही अनुपातमा फयुल सरचार्ज बढाउने निर्णय गरिएको वायुसेवा सञ्चालक संघका प्रमुख संयोजक श्रीकान्त बरालले बिहीबार जानकारी दिनुभयो। सरचार्ज आगामी आइतबारदेखि लागू हुने उहाँले बताउनुभयो।

वायुसेवा सञ्चालकहरूले गत पुस १८ गते पनि झन्डै १२ प्रतिशतका दरले हवाई भाडा बढाएका थिए। त्यस बेला आयल निगमले अँन्तरिक उडानका लागि हवाई इन्धनमा प्रतिलिटर ८ रुपियाँका दरले बर्ढाई ८० रुपियाँ पुर्याएको थियो । अहिले यो मूल्य प्रतिलिटर ९० रुपियाँ रहेको छ । प्रमुख संयोजक बरालका अनुसार हवाई इन्धनमा प्रतिलिटर ४ रुपियाँका दरले घटबढ भएमा फयुल सरचार्ज पुनरवलोकन गर्न पाउने सम्झौता वायुसेवा सञ्चालक र सरकारबीच गत पुस १८ गते भएको थियो । अहिले पनि मापदण्डअनुरूप सरचार्ज बढाउने निर्ण्र्गरिएको वायुसेवा सञ्चालक संघले बताएको छ ।
फयुल सरचार्ज अब प्रतियात्रु प्रतिमिनेट सुगम क्षेत्रका लागि ५ रुपियाँ ८३ पैसा तथा दुगम क्षेत्रका लागि ४ रुपियाँ ७ पैसाका दरले बढ्ने उहाँले जानकारी दिनुभयो ।

Irish rural grorup opposes cuts in drink-driving limits

Dublin- A lobby group campaigning on rural issues has claimed reducing the drink-driving limit could have serious consequences for mental health in rural Ireland.
Irish Rural Link says it supports efforts to improve road safety, but it says rural transport links need to be improved before any cuts are made in the blood alcohol limit.
The group, which is holding its annual conference in Cork today, says reducing the limit would force rural people to stay at home and increase feelings of loneliness and isolation.

Poll shows increased support for FF and Govt in Ireland

Dublin- Major political party in Ireland Fianna Fáil and the Irish Government have seen their support increase significantly in recent months, according to an opinion poll published this morning.
The Irish Times poll puts support for Fianna Fáil at 42%, up eight points since the last survey in January. Fine Gael is down five points to 26%, Labour up three points to 15%, Sinn Féin down two points to 6%, the Greens down two points to 4% and the PDs down two points to 1%.

Elsewhere, the Government's satisfaction rating has also risen 13 points to 48% since January, while the new Taoiseach Brian Cowen has a satisfaction rating of 52%.Seventy per cent of respondents, meanwhile, said Bertie Ahern was correct to resign as Taoiseach earlier this month, while 65% said he still had questions to answer about his personal finances.

Irish construction vacancies continue to rise

Dublin- Latest figures show the pace of job losses in the construction industry is still gathering pace in Ireland.
Employment in construction during March was 11.7 per cent lower than March last year. That compares with a 10.8 per cent annual fall in February. Around a quarter of a million workers are employed in construction but that compares with 270,000 employed in autumn of last year.

Workers would take pay cut for dream job in Ireland: Survey

Dublin- The vast majority of Irish workers would take a salary cut if it meant getting their dream job, it was revealed today.

With the government, unions and employers locked in the latest round of national pay talks a survey has found 84% of people believe a fulfilling career is more important than money. And the poll by recruitment website Monster showed the Irish were the most enthusiastic workforce in Europe when it came to sacrificing their wages for a top role.

“It’s gratifying that European workers see there is more to life than just money,” Monster UK and Ireland Managing Director Julian Acquari said. “Finding the right job for someone is just as important as finding the right person for the job; it has to be a positive relationship for both the employer and the employee.” The poll of more than 20,000 people across Europe was carried out online over several weeks last month.

While the Irish were the most likely to take a pay cut for their dream position, the least enthusiastic were those from France, Belgium, Hungary and Poland.The latest round of national pay talks began last month with unions calling for wage increases in line with inflation.

China death toll 'will top 50,000'

China- China today admitted the death toll from this week’s earthquake could be higher than 50,000.

Aid agencies earlier in the week had suggested the official figures were underestimating the scale of the disaster. And as the confirmed death toll hit 19,509, up from nearly 15,000 yesterday, the government agreed the 50,000 figure.

Tens of thousands of people are still unaccounted for but more than 72 hours after the earthquake hit the relief effort appeared to shift from looking for survivors to searching for bodies. In Luoshui town, on the road to an industrial zone in Shifang city where two chemical plants collapsed burying hundreds of people, troops used a mechanical shovel to dig a pit on a hilltop to bury the dead.

निर्वतमान महासचिव माधवकुमार नेपालको प्रस्तावमा केन्द्रीय कमिटिको आजको वैठकले खनाललाइ नयाँ महासचिव चुनेको हो । बैशाख १५ गतेदेखि पार्टी केन्द्रीय कार्यालय वल्खुमा वसेको वैठकमा भावी नेतृत्व कसलाइ दिने भन्ने विषयमा विवाद भएपनि संविधानसभाका विजेता वनेका मध्ये सवैभन्दा वरिष्ठ नेता खनालले सो अवसर पाउनुभएको हो । खनाल यसअघि नेकपा मालेमा करिव ७ बर्ष महासचिव पदमा रहनुभएको थियो । खनाल नेतृत्वको केन्द्रीय कमिटिले आगामी मंसिरमा पार्टीको आठौं महाधिवेशन गर्ने जिम्मेवारी पाएको छ । यद्यपी पार्टीका अन्य योजनावारे आइतवारवाट शुरु हुने १९ औं वैठकले निर्णय गर्नेछ ।

प्रेम: आफ्नै मर्जी

कान्तिपुरमा प्रकाशित आशिष लुइटेलको 'सहरमा प्रेम प्रदर्शन' पढ्न नपाए पनि त्यसमा खेम र सुजाताजीले गरेका टिप्पणी पढें । प्रेम का बारेमा मलाई लगेका कुरा हरु यहा लेख्दै छु ।

हाम्रो समाजले अर्काको अति चासो राख्छ । कुनै केटाको बाइकमा बस्यो भन्दैमा के त्यो गर्ल फ्रेंड नै हुन्छ - सगै हिडे भन्दैमा गर्ल फ्रेंड, ब्वाई फ्रेंड नै हुन्छन् । एक दिन केटा साथीले मलाई घर पुर्‍याउदा पूरा समाज मेरो पछि लाग्यो । के हो - कसो हो - कुरा काट्न कति हतार । मलाई नानाथरीको दोष लगाइयो । म केटासग लागें भनेर हल्लिखल्ली मच्चियो । तिनले मेरी आमाको कानमा समेत पुर्‍याउन भ्याएछन् । अब भन्नुस् यो सडेको समाजलाई के गर्ने - केटा र केटी बोल्न नपाउने हो भने विद्यालय, कलेजमा को- एडुकेसन हटाउनुपर्‍यो । साथी बनाउदैमा के बिग्रिन्छ - केटा साथी भन्दैमा यौनसम्बन्ध भइहाल्छ भन्ने छ - यौनसम्बन्ध रहेकै भए पनि अरूलाई के मतलब - कसैको निजी जीवनमा किन दखल दिने - थाहा छ, बाच्नु प्रकृतिको नियमअनुसार हो भने जिउनु आफ्नो इच्छाअनुसार ।

ल अब कुरा गरौं प्रेमको । प्रेम के हो - भन्ने युवापुस्तालाई न विद्यालयमा सिकाइयो न परिवारमै । आफूभन्दा अघिल्लाले जे गरेको देख्यो त्यही सिको ससाना कक्षामा अध्ययन गर्नेले गर्छन् । उनीहरूलाई के थाहा प्रेम - एकआपसमा कुराकानी हुदा मैले साथीलाई सोधें 'किन तिमीहरू गर्ल / ब्वोऊ फ्रेंड बनाउछौ -' 'आमाबुवाले नबुझेकाले' भन्ने जवाफ पाए ।
हरेकपल्ट छोरीलाई अधीनमा राख्न खोज्ने, इच्छाअनुसार कतै जान नदिने, शंकामाथि शंका गर्ने, यस्ता कामले उनीहरूमा नैराश्यता आउदैन - हो छोराछोरीका लागि आमाबुवा महान् हुन् । हामीलाई माया गर्छन् तर हामीलाई बुझदैनन् भने त्यो माया के काम - घरबाट दिक्क भएपछि उनीहरू बाहिरकै दुनियामा रमाउ“छन् । प्रेमी-प्रेमिका रोज्छन् र कलिलै उमेरमा यौन क्रियाकलापमा सामेल हुन्छन् ।

हाम्रा नेता देशलाई स्विट्जरल्यान्ड बनाउछौं भन्छन् । तर, म भन्छु, हाम्रो देश स्विट्जरल्यान्डभन्दा राम्रो छ । नेताजीहरू सक्नुहुन्छ भने सडेको समाजलाई बदल्नुस्, जसको दिमागमा गलत सोचबाहेक केही छैन ।
अचेल प्रेमलाई टाइमपासको हिसाबले लिइएको पाइन्छ । त्यसो हुनु गलत हो । प्रेमलाई आध्यात्मिक भावनाले हर्नर्पर्छ । त्यसैले घर एवं विद्यालयमा कम्तीमा आधा घन्टा जति आध्यात्मिक ज्ञान दिनु जरुरी छ जसले केही मात्रामा युवामा ज्ञान पलाउछ ।

पैसा हरायो भनेर रुनुभन्दा पहिला आफूले थैलीको मुख राम्रोसग बन्द गरेको छ छैन हर्नर्पर्छ । छोराछोरी प्रेममा फसे , कुलतमा लगे भनेर रुनुभन्दा आफूले सन्तानसग कस्तो व्यवहार गरें र छोराछोरी के चाहन्छन् भन्नेमा चिन्तन गर्नुपर्छ ।
मेरो विचारमा प्रेम भनेको आफूलाई कसैमाथि र्समर्पण गर्नु हो । र्समर्पण गरेबापत आशा नराख्नु वास्तविक प्रेम हो । तर यो किताब र फिल्म्मा मात्र सीमित छ । वास्तविक जीवनमा सम्भव छैन । यहा छोटो लुगा लगाउने, टन्न मेक-अप गर्ने स्टाइलिस्ट केटीलाई केटाहरू पछ्याउछन् । केटी पनि बाइकवाला स्टाइलिस्ट केटाको पछि लाग्छन् । के यही हो प्रेम ?

काठमांडूमा गर्नु गर्‍यो पानीले

'आज पनि रित्तै -' बिहान क्याम्पस जादा-आउदा रित्ता भाडासग मेरो जम्काभेट हुन्छ । ती मुस्कुराउछन् । म यही प्रश्न गर्छ भनिन्छ, रित्ता भाडा देख्यो भने साइत पर्दैन रे तर, रित्ता भाडा बाटो हिड्दाका साथीजस्तै भइसके । कहिलेकाही तिनलाई नदेख्दाबाटै शून्य लाग्छ । पेट्रोल र डिजेलको सट्टा पानीको लाइन देखिन्छ ।
नारनचौरस्थीत 'सत्य र्साई केन्द्र' कमलोखरीको 'अग्रवाल भवन' र धोवीधारामा सधैंजसो रित्ता भाडाको लाइन हुन्छ । पानीको समस्या मनमा खेलाउदै क्याम्पस जाने क्रममा हिजो बागबजारमा बटुवासग एक्कासि ठोक्किएर झसङ्ग भए । आखिर मलाई पनि छोडेन यो पानीले ।
काठमाडौंमा पानीको हाहाकार छ । मेलम्ची आएर छ्यालव्याल हुन्छ भन्ने सम्बन्धित निकायको खोक्रो आश्वासन 'आकाशको फल आखा तरी मर' भने जत्तिकै भएको छ । कहिलेसम्म रित्ता भाडा बोकेर
यताउता भौंतारिनुपर्ने हो - आज मर्‍यो भोलि औषधि गरेर के फाइदा ।
बहिनीले फोनमा आमालाई आग्रह गर्दै थिई- 'अरू त केही होइन, एक ग्यालिन पानी पठाइदिनु ।' रातभरि पानी आउला कि † भनेर धारा ढुकेर बस्यो तर थोप्पो झर्दैन । केही सीप नलागेर भएभरको मैलो लुगा पोको पारी घरमा पठाइछ बहिनीले । लुगा त पठाइयो तर नुहाउने के ले - गत सोमबार बहिनी कलेज नआएको चार दिन भइसकेको थियो । के भएछ - भनी बुझ्न नक्सालस्थित कोठामा गए । रातभर पानी कुर्दा कुर्दा बिरामी परिछ । 'दिदी राति १ बजेदेखि पानी कुरेको तर आएन् । चापाकल चलाउदा हात हल्लाउनै नहुने भएको छ । पानी त आएन, आएन उल्टै एक बाल्टी पानी धाराले खायो । केही सीप नलागेपछि नारनचौरस्थित 'सत्य र्साई केन्द्र' बाट पानी ओसार्दाओसार्दा बिहानै भयो । कहिलेकाही झुक्केर पानी आइहाले पनि बढीमा २० मिनेटमात्र हो ।'
घरबेटीसहितको चार परिवार रहेको त्यो धारामा पानी थाप्ने बेलामा जहिल्यै मारमार । घरबेटी र भाडावालबीच सधैं झगडा । वरपरको माहोल पनि उस्तै । वादविवादले रातै र्छलङ्ग हुन्छ । बहिनी गुनासो गर्दै थिई । बिचरी † सुत्न नपाउदा चार दिन थला परी । यस्तो छ नक्सालबासीको हालत ।
कमलपोखरीका बासिन्दाको हालत पनि केही फरक छैन । घरमा धारा त छन् तर पानी नआएको ठयाम्मै चार महिना भयो । साथी कुमारी सुनाउ“दैथिइन्- 'पानी नआए पनि पैसा तिर्नैपर्ने । कर्मचारी धारा जा“च्न आउ“छन् । के आधारमा मासिक ८० रुपैया“को बिल काटेर जान्छन् - कस्तो लाज पनि नलागेको - पैसा बुभाउने ठाउ“मा उजुरी गरे. भोलिदेखि आउ“छ भन्छन् । तर त्यस्ता भोलि कति गए कति - दर्ुइ-तीन दिन बिराएर ट्याङ्गकर आउ“छ ।'
रित्ता भा“डा बोकेर दौडादौड गरिरहेको दृश्य हर्ेदा कतिपल्ट अलमल्लमा परेंे म पनि । 'जसको शक्ति उसको भक्ति' भनेझैं बलिया र बाठाले मात्र पानी भर्न सक्छन् । सोझासाझा त हेरेको हेरै । वादविवाद चर्किएर रित्ता भा“डाले हानाहान गर्दा टाउकोमा चोटै लागेको मैले देखें । 'अचम्म नमान यार † हामीलाई त पचिसक्यो' दिक्क मान्दै कुमारीले सुनाई । ठेलमठेल गर्दै धन्न-धन्न पिउने पानीको जोहो गर्दारहेछन् कमपोखरीबासी ।
कोटेश्वरको हालखबर बुझ्न संगीतालाई सम्झें । ल पढ्नुस् उसकै भाषा- 'के कुरा गर्र्छौ - आउ“छ नि † दिनदिनै आउ“छ । अस्ति पनि दिउसभरि आयो । पानी थापेर यसो बाल्टिनमा हेरेको त भैंसी आल बसेजस्तै
-ढल मिसिएको) नाक थुन्दै थापें, कमसेकम ट्वाइलेटमा हाल्न त पाइयो -' नआएर भन्दा पनि फोहोर पानी आएर हैरान रहेछन् कोटेश्वरबासी । केही दिन अघिमात्र टेकुनिवासी मेरा गाउ“ले मित्र सरोजस“ग भेट भएको थियो । हत्त न पत्त पानीको खबर सोधिहालें । उनकै शैलीमा 'कुरा नगरौं † चार महिना भयो पानी नआएको ।'
हाम्रो गैरीधारा क्षेत्रमा भने यति धेरै समस्या भएको छैन । मलाई थाहा भएसम्म डेड वर्षघि मात्र धारामा ६ दिन पानी आएको थिएन । हाल पनि एक दिन बिराएर मेसिन र चापाकल लगाई तान्दा एक-डेढ घन्टा आउ“छ । सुरुमा एक-डेेढ बाल्टिन फोहोर आए पनि पछि त रामै्र आउ“छ । पिउनेबाहेक अरू त रोअरपम्पकै भर हो । पम्पको पानी भने घट्दै गइरहेको छ ।
घरघरमा पिउने पानीका धारा छन् तर थोपो पानी र्झदैन । च्याउ उम्रेसरी घर बनेका छन् । रोअरपम्प र इनार नभएको घर कमै होलान् । आधाभन्दा बढी आवश्यकता जमिनको पानीले धानेको छ । अत्यधिक प्रयोगका कारण कतिपय ठाउ“मा त्यही पनि सुकिसके । पिउने पानीको झन् के कुरा - आफन्त र सहपाठी फोहोरी भए भनेर खिसीचाहि“ नगर्नुर्होला है - किनभने दोष पानीको हुनसक्छ । पानीकै कारण विद्यार्थीको पढाइ छुटिरहेको छ । जागिरवाला राम्ररी काम गर्न सक्दैनन् । घरबेटी र छिमेकीबीचमा मनमुटाव । न सुत्न पाइने न धारामा पनि आउने † पानीको समस्याले दिनचर्या भताभुङ्ग भएको छ काठमाडौंबासीको ।

चीनमा सबै नेपाली सकुशल

बेइजिङ- चीनको सिचुवान प्रान्तमा रहेका नेपालीहरू सकुशल रहेको बेइजिङस्थित नेपाली दूतावासले जनाएको छ ।
सोमबार दिउँसो सो प्रान्तमा गएको भूकम्पमा परी कम्तीमा १२ हजारको ज्यान जानुका साथै हजारौँ घाइते भएका थिए । सबै खालका सम्पर्कसुत्रबाट त्यहाँ कुनै नेपाली हताहत नभएको जानकारी दूतावासलाई प्राप्त भएको चीनका लागि नेपाली राजदूत टङ्कप्रसाद कार्कीले बताउनुभयो । उहाँले भन्नुभयो- "सम्बन्धित अधिकारी, प्रकोपबाट प्रभावित क्षेत्रमा रहेका नेपाली, नेपाली विद्यार्थीहरू अध्ययनरत विभिन्न शिक्षण संस्थालगायत सबै सम्पर्कसुत्रबाट प्राप्त जानकारीअनुसार हालसम्म कुनै नेपालीको जनधनको क्षति भएको खबर आएको छैन ।" सोमबार दिउँसो करिब साढे दर्ुइ बजे सिचुवान प्रान्तको वन छुवान काउन्टीमा केन्द्रविन्दु रहेको ७.८ रेक्टर स्केलको भूकम्प गएको थियो ।
सिचुवान प्रान्तमा भएका नेपालीहरूको निश्चित सङ्ख्या अध्यावधिक गरिएको छैन । यद्यपि भूकम्प प्रभावित क्षेत्रमा करिब ४०० नेपाली रहेको अनुमान दूतावासले गरेको छ । जसमध्ये अधिकांश विद्यार्थी छन् । करिब दुइ दर्जनभन्दा बढी नेपाली कामदार तथा अन्य केही नेपाली पनि सो क्षेत्रमा व्यापार व्यवसाय गरेर बसेको बताइन्छ ।
चीन आउने केही नेपालीहरूले दूतावास वा महावाणिज्य दूतावासलाई कुनै जानकारी नदिने भएकोले यस्तो तथ्याङ्क अध्यावधिक गर्न कठिनाइ परिरहेको बताइएको छ ।
राजदूत कार्कीले चीनमा रहेका सबै नेपालीलाई नेपाली दूतावासको वेभ साइट (डब्लुडब्लुडब्लु डट नेपाल एम्बेसी डट ओआरजी डट सिएन) मा गएर आफ्ना जानकारीहरू उपलब्ध गराइदिन अनुरोध पनि गर्नुभएको छ ।

राजालाई कानुनी प्रक्रियाबाट हटाइने

काठमांडू- संविधानसभा बैठकको पहिलो दिन जेठ १५ गतेसम्म राजा ज्ञानेन्द्रले दरवार नछाडे उनलाई कानुनी प्रक्रियाबाट त्यहाँबाट हटाइने दावी माओवादी वरिष्ठ नेता मोहन बैद्य किरणले गरेका छन् ।

माओवादीका वरिष्ठ नेता मोहन बैद्य किरणले जेठ १५ गतेअघि राजाले नारायणहिटी नछाडे उनलाई कानुनी प्रक्रियाबाट हटाइने बताएका छन् । जेठ १ गते राजधानीमा आयोजित अन्तरक्रियामा बोल्दै किरणले राजा हटाउनु कुनै ठूलो कुरा नभएको दावी गरे । उनले १५ गते अघि नै राजा हटाउन आफूहरुले वातावरण बनाइरहेको पनि उल्लेख गरे ।
कार्यक्रममा किरणले संविधानसभा चुनावअघिको सहमति बिपरित अन्य दलहरुले वाईसीएल बिघटन जस्ता र्सत राखेको बताए तथा अन्य दलले चाहे पनि संविधानसभामा दुई तिहाई नपुग्ने तर माओवादीले चाहे दुई तिहाई पुर्‍याउन सक्ने दावी गरे । 'कसैले फुर्ति नलगाए हुन्छ, अरु दल आउदैनन् भने माओवादी एक्लैले सरकार बनाउनेछ तथा चलाउनेछ' किरणले भने ।
कार्यक्रमका अर्का वक्ता नेपाली कांग्रेसका सहमहामन्त्री तथा प्रवक्ता अर्जुननरसिंह केसीले तीस प्रतिशत मात्र मत ल्याएको माओवादीले झुठ र भ्रमको खेती गर्दै तथा सपना बाढदै हिड्नु बेकार भएको बताए । संविधानसभा चुनावपछि पनि पार्टीका कार्यकर्ताको घरमा माओवादीले आगो लगाएको तथा कार्यकर्तालाई कुटपिट गरेको उल्लेख गर्दै केसीले शान्तिप्रक्रियालाई निश्कर्षमा पुर्‍याउन कांग्रेसले चुनावअघि लचकता देखाए जस्तै माओवादीले पनि अब लचकता देखाउनुपर्ने माग गरे । 'माओवादीले अझै दम्भ त्याग्दैन भने कांग्रेस आत्मार्समर्पण गर्दैन, बरु जंगल पस्छ' केसीले चेतावनी दिए ।
एमाले स्थायी समिति सदस्य केशव बडालले माओवादीको ज्यादति नरोकिएका कारण एमाले माओवादीको नेतृत्वको सरकारमा जाने सम्भावना कम रहेको बताए । बडालले केही महिनापछि हुने महाधिवेशनसम्म पार्टीको नेतृत्व स्थायी समिति सदस्य झलनाथ खनालले गर्ने सम्भावना रहेको जानकारी दिए ।

'Natural population' rises by 12,099 in fourth quarter of 2007

Dublin- 58% of Irish women who have children before they're thirty - do so outside of marriage.
That's according to new CSO figures, which also reveal the 'natural population' rose by almost 13,000 between between July and September of last year. The oldest mothers registered - at 33 years of age - live in the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown area of Dublin, the youngest hail from Limerick and Waterford cities, the average age there being 29.

Increase of 13% in oversea trips

Dublin- Irish people took 13 per cent more trips abroad in 2007 than in the previous year.
New figures from the Central Statistics Office show Irish people had 7-million-713-thousand holidays overseas last year.
8-million-and-12-thousand visitors came to Irish shores in teh same period ... up 4 per cnet on the previous year.

Massive changes in Irish broadcasting laws announced

Dublin- The biggest overhaul in decades of Irish broadcasting laws have been unveiled.
The new Broadcasting Bill will repeal all previous laws and set out new rules for all television and radio broadcasters operating in the State.
It sets up a new super-authority to regulate both broadcasters in the Independent sector and the license-fee funded, RTE. New fines of up to a quarter of a million euro could be imposed by the courts for breaches of the rules.
Communications Minister Eamon Ryan says other measures to protect children and people's reputations are also included.

Chinese media say almost 26 thousand dead after earthquake

China- Chinese state media are reporting that almost 26 thousand people are still buried beneath rubble following mondy's earthquake.

The official death is now approaching 15-thousand. Rescuers are slowly searching through the debris looking for signs of life.

New bill will change face of Irish broadcasting

Dublin- Communications Minister Eamon Ryan says the Broadcasting Bill published today will significantly change the face of broadcasting in Ireland.

Under the proposed legislation, a single regulator would be established to oversee the independent broadcasting sector as well as RTÉ and TG4.

Irish audiences would also have a right of reply and the broadcaster would have to air an apology if an individual's reputation was damaged.

The bill would also ban junk food advertising during children's programming hours.

Bord Gáis to seek increase in gas prices

Dublin- Households look set to face an increase in their gas bills later this year after Bord Gáis confirmed that it would be applying to the energy regulator for a price increase.

Announcing its annual results today, the company said it would be seeking an increase of between 15% and 20%. It says the increase is needed as the cost of gas purchases have doubled in the past year. In the UK, gas prices have already increased by an average of 16% so far this year.

'एकै महिना यतिका चलचित्र कमै बन्छन्' निर्माता संघका अध्यक्ष अशोक शर्मा भन्छन्- 'यो राम्रो कुरा हो ।' देशमा शान्ति भएपछि चलचित्रको भविष्य उज्यालो हु“दै जन थालेको उनी बताउ“छन् ।

Dublin- Learner drivers are being offered the chance to sit their test on a Sunday for the first time ever. It's in an effort to clear the backlog of those on waiting lists before the June deadline.
The Road Safety Authority's issued text messages to people on their second provisional licence - to make them aware of Sunday tests on offer between the 18th of May and the 8th of June.

18 thousand trapped in China as death toll climbs to almost 12 thousand

China- At least 18 thousand people are still thought to be trapped in a town close to the epicentre of yesterday's earthquake in China.
An official has told a news conference that the number confirmed killed now stands at 11 thousand 9 hundred and 21. A strong aftershock hit Chengdu this morning, following the 7.9-magnitude earthquake yesterday.

Job vacancies down in April

Dublin- The number of job vacancies decreased again last month. A survey found that last month 7% of firms reported having jobs to fill, down from 10% in March.
The survey was carried out by the training and employment Authority FÁS, and the Economic and Social Research Institute. Only one in 100 retail firms said they had jobs to fill last month.

Irish Construction sector at its highest rate of slowdown

Dublin- The number of jobs in the troubled construction sector is at its lowest level for six years.
That's according to the latest FAS/ESRI employment and vacancies survey, which shows the amount of building work across the country has dramatically fallen over the last few months.
Economists say the three-month average of construction jobs continued to decline in April, falling by two points to 5 per cent - the lowest figure in the sector since the survey began in May 2002.

Quake death toll nears 10,000

China- The death toll from a powerful earthquake in central China has climbed to nearly 10,000 in the worst-hit province, state news reports said today.

Yesterday’s 7.9-magnitude quake devastated a region of small cities and towns in an area of Sichuan province north of the capital of Chengdu.

The official Xinhua News Agency said about 600 people died in Shifang city, which was the site of a major chemical leak. The report did not say whether people were killed by the quake or the chemical leak. Xinhua said as many as 2,300 people in the city were still buried under rubble, including more than 900 students.

Landslides have blocked roads into the hardest-hit areas, and rescue workers were heading there on foot. The mid-afternoon quake emptied office buildings across the country in Beijing, could be felt as far away as Vietnam. In Chengdu it crashed telephone networks and hours later left parts of the city of 10 million in darkness. Xinhua said nearly 10,000 people died in central China’s Sichuan province alone and 216 others in three other provinces and the mega-city of Chongqing. Worst affected were four counties including the quake’s epicentre in Wenchuan, 60 miles north west of Chengdu.

102 killed on Irish roads this year

Dublin- A crash that killed two men between Portarlington and Mountmellick yesterday has brought the number of people killed on Irish roads this year to 102.
The men, a taxi driver from Mountmellick and his passenger, died in the two-car collision at about 2pm in Annamoe, Portarlington, Co Offaly. Four other men from the second car were brought to Tullamore and Portlaoise hospitals for treatment, and were later released. The death toll on Irish roads so far this year marks a reduction of about 15% on the number of people killed during the same period last year.

Over 100 posts announced for Donegal

Dublin- 135 new jobs are being created in the Donegal Gaeltacht.
Randox Laboratories is to invest 7.5 million euro in a manufacturing and Research and development plant in Dungloe. The new posts will come online over the next three years.
Managing Director of Randox Laboratories Dr Peter Fitzgerald says there is potential for futher investment at the plant in the future.

Troops called in to deal with China quake aftermath

Thousands of troops were called in to central China after a massive earthquake rocked the region today bringing fears of a huge death toll.

Early reports said it killed at least 100 people and buried nearly 900 children in their school buildings. The numbers of deaths are expected to rise sharply. The 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck in the middle of the afternoon, when classes and office towers were full, 57 miles north-west of the Sichuan provincial capital of Chengdu.

The official state Xinhua News Agency said the dead had been killed in Sichuan, Gansu and Yunnan provinces and in the Chongqing district. It said many had died in collapsed buildings but did not give details. More than 5,000 soldiers and police have been rushed into Sichuan to help in the disaster relief. The airport in Sichuan’s provincial capital, Chengdu, was closed and roads were clogged with traffic after the earthquake.

The quake struck at 2.28 pm (07.28 Irish time), the US Geological Survey said, followed by a series of smaller aftershocks. An Israeli student in Juyuan, Ronen Medzini said power and water supplies had been cut. “Traffic jams, no running water, power outs, everyone sitting in the streets, patients evacuated from hospitals sitting outside and waiting,” he said.

निगमले अहिले पाँचवटा पम्पलाई दोहोरो मूल्य अनुसार मूल्य निर्धारण गर्ने अनुमती दिएको छ । जसअनुसार थ्री बर्रदर्श नयाँ बानेश्वर, नारायण आयल कलङकी, तलेजु भवानी बालाजु, खड्का आयल स्टोर्स बाँसबारी र चुच्चेपाटी फ्युल सेन्टरलाई अनुमती दिइएको छ । नेपाल आयल निगमका महाप्रबन्धक दिगम्बर झाले भने र्सार्वजनिक भाडाका गाडीलाई अनुदानमार्फ् पुरानै मूल्य कायम गराउने बताए । तर उनले निगम घाटामा रहेकोले सरकारले अनुमती दिएमा डिजेलको मूल्य बढाइहाल्ने बताए । नेपाल पेट्रोलियम डिलर्स एशोसिएसन र निगमले संयुक्त रूपमा पम्प सञ्चालन गरी उपभोक्ता मूल्य अनुसार डिजेल वितरण भइरहेको अवस्थामा निगमले फेरि ढुवानी भाडा र कमिसन शुल्क व्यवसायीले नै निर्धारण गर्न पाउने गरी निर्ण्र्ाागरिदिएको छ । पेट्रोलियम डिलर्स एशोसिएसनका अध्यक्ष शिवप्रसाद घिमिरेले पनि सरकारले व्यवस्था गरिदिए बमोजिम नै दोहोरो मूल्यमा डिजेल बेच्न थालिएको जानकारी दिए ।

2,700 jobs cut due to HSE recruitment freeze

Dublin- Almost 2,700 jobs have reportedly been cut from the health service as a result of the HSE's controversial recruitment freeze.

Reports this morning say figures supplied to the HSE show that just over 110,000 people were employed in the health service in March. This compares to almost 113,000 last August, just before the recruitment freeze was put in place in an effort to rein in a €200m budget overrun.

Health unions say the cutbacks are already having a significant impact on services and patient care.

IMPACT has already decided to take industrial action from Wednesday of next week that will see its members refuse to work non-emergency overtime or to cover jobs left unfilled due to the recruitment ban.

1.5 million survivors of Burma cyclone at risk

Dublin- Aid agency Oxfam is warning that one-and-a-half million survivors of last week's cyclone in Burma may die unless the aid effort is speeded up.
An estimated one-hundred thousand have already been killed by last Saturday's cyclone.
Now the biggest threat to survivors is disease and a lack of clean water. The military regime is wary of letting foreign relief workers into the country. More aid has arrived but agencies are warning it's still not being distributed fast enough.

Aid starts to reach cyclone victims

Aid is reaching Burma’s cyclone victims in greater amounts with many roads being cleared, but there is no sign foreign experts will be allowed in.

An internal report of the UN humanitarian coordinating agency today said “visas for international humanitarian personnel remain a critical issue”. The junta says it only wants international relief material and money but not the people to manage it. It wants to hand out all donated supplies on its own to an estimated two million people who are without food or shelter, facing the threat of diseases, after Cyclone Nargis on May 3.

According to the government, 23,335 people died and 37,019 are missing. International aid organisations say the death toll could climb to more than 100,000 as conditions worsen.

नेपालसंगको सिमाना जोडिएको भारतीय राज्य पश्चिम बंगालको खरसाङ्ग महकुमाका केही स्थानहरुमा बर्ड फ्‍लुको भाइरस भेटिएको पुष्टि भएपछि नेपालमा पनि उक्त रोग आउने खतरा बढेको छ । दार्जीलिङ्ग जिल्लाका प्रशासन प्रमुख राजेश पाण्डेले सिलिगुडी भन्दा २२ किलोमिटर उत्तरका स्थानहरुमा बर्डफ्‍लु भेटिएको शुक्रबार पुष्टि गरेका थिए ।
नेपाल र भारतबीचको खुल्ला नाकाबाट दिनहुँ अवैध रुपमा भारतीय कुखुराहरु नेपाल भित्रिने गरेका कारण नेपालमा बर्ड फ्‍लुको खतरा बढेको पशु क्वारेन्टाइन कार्यालय काकडभिट्‍टाका प्रमुख डा उदयप्रताप सिंहले बताए । अधिकारीहरू निरीह अवैध भारतीय कुखुरा नियन्त्रण गर्न धेरै बाधा रहेका कारण आफु निरीह हुनु परेको उनले बताए । सिंहले तस्करहरुले धम्क्याउने गरेकाले कुखुराको अवैध पैठारी नियन्त्रणमा बाधा पुगेको गुनासो पनि पोखे।
बीबीसी नेपाली सेवाका स्थानिय सम्वाददाता भन्छन्, प्रशासनले भारतीय कुखुराको अवैध पैठारी नियन्त्रण नगर्ने र तस्करहरुका कारण पशु क्वारेन्टाइनले काम गर्न नसक्ने हो भने नेपालमा कहिले नदेखिएको बर्ड फ्‍लु अब नभेटिएला भन्न सकिन्न ।
हाँस, कुखुरा जस्ता पाल्तु पंछीहरुमा लाग्ने बर्डफ्लूको प्रकोप केहि वर्षअघि दक्षिणपूर्वी एशियामा शुरु भएको थियो । उक्त रोग मानिसमा सरेपछि केहि विरामीहरुको मृत्यु समेत भएको थियो।
गत वर्षदेखी छिमेकको भारतमा समेत देखा परेको उक्त रोगको केस नेपालमा भने अहिलेसम्म पहिचान गरिएको छैन।

गिरिजा राष्ट्रपति र प्रचण्ड प्रधानमन्त्री बन्ने सहमति

काठमांडू- नयाँ सरकारको गठन, संविधानसभाको वैठक तथा त्यसका एजेन्डा तय जस्ता विभिन्न विषयमा छलफल गर्न शुक्रबार बसेको सात दलिय बैठकमा गिरिजाप्रसाद कोइरालालाई प्रथम राष्ट्रपति बनाउने सैद्धान्तिक सहमति भएको बताईएको छ ।

यसका लागि कोइराला र प्रचण्डबीच पटक-पटकका वार्ता र गृहकार्य गरिएको जनाईएको छ । संविधानसभाको निर्वाचन पश्चात ठूलो दलका रुपमा स्थापित माओवादीले अध्यक्ष प्रचण्डको नेतृत्वमा नयाँ सरकार गठन गर्ने जिकिर गरिरहेको तथा राष्ट्रिय अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय माहौल प्रतिकुल भएको हुँदा प्रचण्ड आफ्नो अभिभावककारुपमा कोइरालालाई राख्ने मनस्थितिमा भएको बुझिएको छ । राष्ट्रिय सेना र बिद्रोही लडाकुको सुप्रिमो एउटै व्यक्ति हुन नहुने र वर्तमान प्रधानमन्त्री गिरिजाप्रसाद कोइरालालाई सम्मानजनक स्थान दिइनुपर्ने लगायतका आवाजहरू उठिरहेका बेला गणतन्त्र नेपालका प्रथम राष्ट्रपतिका रुपमा गिरिजाप्रसाद कोइरालालाई प्रस्ताव गरिने लगभग पक्का भएको छ ।

माओवादीको घोषणापत्रमा कार्यकारी अधिकार सम्पन्न राष्ट्रपति बनाउने एजेन्डा रहे पनि गिरिजाप्रसाद कोइरालाको हकमा भने उनी सेरेमोनियल राष्ट्रपति तथा प्रचण्ड कार्यकारी अधिकार प्राप्त प्रधानमन्त्री बनाउने राजनीतिक सहमति गरिएको जनाइएको छ । भर्खरै सम्पन्न संविधानसभा निर्वाचनमा नेपाली कांग्रेसको सभापति भइकन पनि गिरिजाप्रसाद कोइरालाले तटस्थ भूमिका निर्वाह गरेकाले विपक्षी दलहरूको मन जिन्त सफल भएका छन् । राजनीतिक सहमतिका क्रममा कांग्रेस अर्थात गिरिजाप्रसाद कोइरालालाई सेरेमोनियल राष्ट्रपति, माओवादीका प्रचण्डलाई कार्यकारी प्रधानमन्त्री तथा एमालेका सुवासचन्द्र नेम्वाङ्गलाई संविधानसभा अध्यक्ष बनाउने निर्णय भएको बुझिएको छ ।जेठ १५ गते भित्र संविधनसभाको बैठक बोलाउने तथा जेठभित्रै नयाँ सरकार समेत गठन हुने सहमित भएको छ । नयाँ सरकारमा कांग्रेसको सहभागिता प्रायः निश्चित देखिएको भए पनि एमालेको सहभागिता भने स्पष्ट भएको छैन । स्रोतका अनुसार एमालेले सहमति जनाए एकैपटक सबै दललाई समावेश गरेर सरकार गठन गर्ने त्यसो नभए, तत्काल मओवादीको मात्रै सरकार बनाउने र पछि अरु दलको सहभागिता हुनेछ । अब बन्ने गठबन्धन सरकारमा हाल कांग्रेसको भूमिकामा माओवादी रहने तथा माओवादीको भूमिकामा कांग्रेस रुपान्तरण भई मन्त्रालयको भागवण्डा गरिने भएको छ। शुक्रबार बसेको सात दलको बैठकमा निर्वाचनपश्चात आएका नयाँ राजनीतिक पार्टीलाई समेत समावेश गरेर एउटा कार्यदल बनाउने तथा त्यस कार्यदलले संविधानसभाको बैठकको एजेन्डा तय गर्ने बताइएको छ । त्यसबाहेक यही सरकारले राजनीतिक सहमतिका आधारमा २६ जनालाई संविधानसभा सभासद्मा मनोनयन निर्णय ागरेको छ । अन्य दलले दुबै ठाउँबाट पराजित एमालेका निवर्तमान महासचिव माधव नेपाललाई संविधानसभासद्मा मनोनयन गर्ने प्रस्ताव गरे पनि नेपालले अनिच्छा व्यक्त गरेपछि निर्वाचनमा पराजित व्यक्तिलाई मनोनित नगर्ने सहमति भएको बुझिएको छ ।
