Partygoers urged to drink responsibly

Dublin- Partygoers were today urged to take personal responsibility for their drinking to ensure a safe New Year for all.
The drinks industry awareness group, Mature Enjoyment of Alcohol in Society (Meas), called on revellers to respect those at work and plan ahead to get home.Meas has highlighted the unacceptable impact of drunken behaviour on innocent parties including A&E nurses, neighbours, people out alone, shop workers and taxi drivers.“It is important that partygoers take personal responsibility for their drinking and acknowledge the effect their celebrations can have on others such as neighbours or those working,” Meas chief executive Fionnuala Sheehan said.
